Tyler, The Creator has released a second single from his new album Chromakopia ahead of its release next week.

Titled “Noid,” the rock-tinged track finds the Odd Future founder — who has built a cult-like following since storming onto the scene over a decade ago — grappling with fame and paranoia.

“I can’t even buy a home in private / Home invasions got my brothers dyin’ / Notice every car that’s drivin’ by / Think my neighbors want me dead / I got a cannon underneath the bed, triple checkin’ if I locked the door / I know every crick that’s in the floor / Muthafucka, I’m paranoid!” he raps over a fuzzy guitar and marching percussion.

Tyler also swears against women looking to “trap” him with a baby over the sonically expansive song, which contains jazzy, soulful flourishes.

The accompanying video, directed by Tyler himself, only heightens the sense of paranoia as he’s accosted by camera-friendly fans in the street, anxiously monitors his rearview mirror while driving his Ferrari and fortifies himself inside his house while keeping watch through the curtains.

The sepia-colored clip ends with the multi-hypenate suffering what appears to be a mental breakdown as he runs away from imaginary enemies barefoot on a road.

It also might help to explain the mask that has defined the Chromakopia rollout thus far, suggesting it’s more than just a nod to the late MF DOOM, one of his biggest influences.

Chromakopia is set to arrive next Monday (October 28), serving as Tyler, The Creator’s eighth album and first since 2021’s Call Me If You Get Lost.

“Noid” is the second preview of the project fans have been treated to following “St. Chroma,” which features guest vocals from Daniel Caesar and appears to be the intro track.

Further guest features, if any, have yet to be revealed, although the album cover art states that Chromakopia is entirely self produced and arranged by Tyler himself.

The album will arrive just in time for the rapper’s 2024 Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival, which takes place on November 16 and 17 at Los Angeles’ Dodger Stadium.

Tyler himself is on the lineup and will likely perform Chromakopia for the first time, while the likes of André 3000, Playboi Carti, ScHoolboy Q, Sexyy Red, Earl Sweatshirt, Vince Staples and Doechii are also on the bill.

The festival will also feature a tribute to MF DOOM, who passed away in 2020.
