Tyler, The Creator has paid tribute to Mac Miller while performing in the late rapper’s hometown of Pittsburgh.
At his Chromakopia Tour stop at the PPG Paints Arena on Friday (March 28), Tyler took some time out to remember his friend and collaborator, who died of a drug overdose in 2018.
He said to the crowd: “What a special place. I had a friend that’s from here. His name was Malcolm. Safe travels, rest in peace to him.”
The Odd Future founder then shared a fond memory of Mac, saying: “The last time I was here, he rode me around the city. It was great.”
“I’m just happy to be back so I want to dedicate tonight’s performance to my friend Mac Miller,” Tyler added, prompting a warm reaction from the crowd.
The two previously worked together on 2013’s “O.K.,” while Mac also made a guest appearance on Tyler’s former Adult Swim show Loiter Squad.

Last year, Tyler, The Creator talked about Mac Miller when addressing white rappers in Hip Hop on Maverick Carter’s SpringHill podcast.
Airing his grievances with the viral rapper ian, Tyler said: āThereās this kid right now, this white kid, regular Caucasian man, and heās like mocking Future and Gucci Mane, like rap music. And people are like, āThis shit hard!āā
āItās not even like satire, itās like, āIām just joking, Iām just mocking it.ā But Iām like, āNo, no, no, you canāt do [that].ā And I hold rap music so close to my heart ācause this shit changed my life and everyoneās life around me, and Iām a nerd about this shit.ā
Tyler continued: āThis is like weird and Iām looking at it and something about it donāt even sit well with me, in comparison to someone like a Mac Miller or Eminem who didnāt seem like they were mocking it; they had a genuine love for it.ā
Mac Miller’s second posthumous album, Balloonerism, was released in January of this year.
The project, which features a guest appearance from SZA and was originally recorded in 2014, debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 and earned 81,000 equivalent units in its first week.
Described as one of his most experimental musical efforts, Balloonerism was shelved for over a decade as the Most Dope MC opted to move in a different direction.
However, Mac was reportedly considering releasing the project before his death as it had circulated in various unofficial forms online over the years.
Ayo Tyler! Brush yo bum ass teeth before you mention Mac!
Sellout!
Tyler likes to hug men while not wearĆng clothes. what i’m trying to say here he likes men in a 5exual way. Errbody know. Mac Miller was a small hat, a hook nose šš». Mac Miller’s ancestors controlled the transatlantic slave trade. His ancestors were shipping Tyler ancestors out of Africa on them slave ships. Also the small hats are behind the LGBT agenda. Mac Miller’s people are behind mass immigration from Africa/middle-east&/other (non-white) shitholes into US,UK,Europe, Canada, Australia. They also are behind the LGBT agenda. So it comes full circle. Are you following me?
>Are you following me?
I am not.
You wrote an entire essay about how gay you are. You could just say you love cum on your tongue in one sentence and save us all some time queer bait.
I mean, I talk about Tyler liking men a lot. Itās just interesting, you know? The way he moves, the way he carries himself⦠makes you think. Not saying Iād try it or anything, but if I did, I feel like Iād understand it better. Aināt nothing wrong with being curious, right? They say you never really know unless you experience something for yourself. Not that I would, but I can see how someone might wonder what itās like. Just to know, you know?
Anyway, back to the small hats. People donāt wanna admit the truth, but they been running things forever. The way they push certain agendas, always trying to make men act different⦠itās almost like they want us to explore certain things. And honestly, sometimes I wonder⦠is it really them pushing it? Or is it just something thatās already inside some of us?
You smell me?
What a nice and moving tribute, respect to Tyler and RIP Mac Miller. Love the crowd reaction.
Who cares? Both these que3rs get to burn in hell š„š
