Tyler, The Creator has launched his inaugural Louis Vuitton collection with a true-to-style trailer that shows off his colorful offerings for spring 2024.

On Thursday (March 21), Tyler released a two-minute video across social platforms to boost the collection just as it went live. In it, he playfully drags an oversized camera into a studio with the intention of taking photos of the new items.

“Where is everybody? Fuck!” he yells after realizing he has no help.

The “Craggy Monogram” collection includes an array of items such as a knitted vest, collectible cereal bowl, leather golf bag, chess set and shoes, among other things.

The California native also took a moment to reflect on the collaboration, writing on Twitter: “i started with stencils on proclubs in 04. then iron ons for bloxhead in 06. few fuck lame prints in 08.

“jasper would ask me to draw on his hoodies and shoes i never declined. then odd future items got cracking in 2011, then vans trusted me. i started and dialed in on golf wang in 2013, which led to an ill converse relationship; still going.”

He continued: “started working on le FLEUR* in 2019 after lacoste gave me a shot. le FLEUR* finally released 2021 and im still perfecting it. all that preparation went to work when i got the opportunity at louis vuitton to do this collection. i was not nervous. i did not feel pressure. i was beyond ready.

“i am very proud of how it came out. on top of everything i got to use my friends in it and the same production crew ive used on everything since the yonkers video. ive been making clothing along side music since i was 13. nice to add this to the list.”

Tyler, The Creator first announced the above project in February, making sure to thank Pharrell as he revealed his plans.

He wrote in a social media post: “A Louis Vuitton collection by TYLER OKONMA. hand drawn craggy monogram. chess board is my favorite thing ive made. thank you @pharrell i love you, you keep throwing me the keys. the @louisvuitton team thank yall for allowing these ideas come to life.

Tyler, The Creator shed more insight into the collection in a statement to GQ, saying: “My main focus was making things I would wear all the time. I dress the same in a meeting as I do a performance or grocery store trip, so hand drawing the monogram felt like the perfect balance to me.

“The chessboard is one of the greatest things I’ve made and is definitely my favorite thing from the collection. The team was great to work with, it kinda felt like Big with Tom Hanks. P has always left a door open for me, but I still can’t believe this one.”

Returning the compliment, Pharrell added: “Tyler has been my close friend and collaborator for years and we’ve always connected on music and design. This collaboration is unique to Louis Vuitton because it’s a natural extension of our LVERS philosophy, building on our network of incredible artists and creatives.

“There are so many elements specific to Tyler built into these pieces and it’s been inspiring to see him hone in on his craft and collaborate with him for this Spring collection.”
