Twista has — perhaps surprisingly — long been a gun enthusiast, but he’s now announced it to the world with a unique collaboration.

Teaming up with YouTuber Gun Drummer on Friday (November 24), the Chicago native performed his classic track, “Overnight Celebrity,” over the sounds of rapid gunfire that was a near-perfect match to the beat.

This is the first time that Gun Drummer has teamed up with a Hip Hop artist for his nearly 500,000 subscriber-strong channel. Prior to this collaboration, Gun Drummer made his name performing heavy metal tracks, such as Metallica’s “Wherever I May Roam” and “For Whom The Bell Tolls.”

However, he made an exception with a rather trigger-happy performance of Mariah Carey’s Christmas track, “All I Want For Christmas.”

Check out the performance with Twista below.

In recent years, Twista has made a name for himself as a gun coach and competitive shooter. The rapper (real name Carl Mitchell) also has an Illinois Concealed Carry License and is a U.S. Concealed Carry Association (USCCA) and National Rifle Association of America (NRA) certified instructor.

He also teaches a course on concealed carry in Chicago, aiming to use education to combat gun violence.

On the musical side of things, he’s been back in the spotlight since Beyoncé used his “Wetter” instrumental for the official remix of “Cuff It.”

And back in February, Twista teased a remix of his own of the Renaissance track.

Meanwhile, fans came to the rapper’s defense at the top of the year after rap blog Raphousetv2 shared a Photoshopped image of its picks for a Mount Rushmore to represent the Windy City’s rap scene.

Featuring G HerboKing VonChief Keef and Lil Durk, the post’s caption read: “Is this Chicago/Chiraq Rap Mt.Rushmore Valid?”

Replies immediately starting pouring in, noting that Chicago heavyweights like Kanye West, Twista, Common, Lupe Fiasco and more were missing.

“You would need to do an older / newer generation Mt. Rushmore. Because no Ye, Common, Twista & Lupe is nuts,” FakeShoreDrive‘s Andrew Barber responded. “Also people gotta stop acting like Chance doesn’t belong on this.”

“Nah, thats the drill scene,” another Twitter user responded. “real one is Ye, Common, Lupe Fiasco & Twista.”
