Twista appeared in court yesterday (April 11) and entered a not guilty plea after being arrested last month for misdemeanor marijuana possession and missing a scheduled performance in Indiana, according to The Chicago Tribune.
Twista‘s legal team, which is representing three other men he was arrested with, entered a motion to save the police tapes leading up to the arrest, saying that they were on high alert the evening of the arrest because of the concert. Seven people were taken into custody that night on marijuana charges and for driving on a suspended license.
TMZ reports that the legal team is claiming that the Windy City rapper was illegally profiled because of his Rolls-Royce, which it says police knew was Twista’s.
The rapper is set to start trial August 18 and has additional hearings scheduled for May 24 and June 28 prior to that.

Twista arrested in Indiana after cops find weed in a car he was traveling in.
Fans of rapid-fire wordsmith Twista missed out on witnessing the rapper perform firsthand, when the car Twista was traveling in on his way to a show in Valparaiso, Indiana was pulled over.
According to TMZ, after the vehicle was pulled over, police searched the car and found weed.
“Twista was scheduled to perform at Big Shots in Valparaiso,” TMZ reports. “We’re told the Rolls Royce Phantom in which he was riding was pulled over at 10:15 PM, before the concert. Twista, 2 other passengers and the driver waited outside the car as police searched the vehicle and found the weed.”
Twista and crew were subsequently arrested following the discovery.
Although the rapper posted bail and was released hours after his arrest, he still missed his show in Indiana.
A number of fans expressed their disappointment with the Porter County Police Department, following news of the arrest.
“Disappointing..great show though..screw you Porter County!! #critical219 #twista312 #bigshotsvalpo,” one user posted on the event page for the concert.
There is no word yet on if Twista will make up for his missed show in Indiana.

Why were they pulled over? Did they consent to the search or was the registered owner of the car on probation or something? If the cops smelled marijuana that does not give them probable cause to search the vehicle as the Supreme court has ruled within the last few years. How much marijuana did the cops find. This story lacks any and all pertinent information.
