Troy Ave has retooled his 2021 track “Money Dance 1-2-3” as a diss record aimed at Maino, Taxstone, Joe Budden, and a number of others.

But now that the Brooklyn-born rapper is back in the news due to the resurgence of his beef with some of Hip Hop’s heavyweights, he’s taken the opportunity to capitalize on the increased attention by releasing an official video for the song and noting in the YouTube title that it’s a “Taxstone, China Mac, Joe Budden, DJ Vlad, Maino Chaino & Mysonne diss record.”
While lyrically he doesn’t name any names, the reworked “diss” title is linked to the drama surrounding the death of Tory Ave’s bodyguard Banga (real name Ronald McPhatter). Taxstone was found guilty of shooting and killing McPhatter last month.

Another rapper named in the new YouTube title for “Money Dance 1-2-3” is Mysonne. Troy Ave’s beef with the Bronx native is also connected to the shooting that cost Banga’s life. Banga’s brother, Trife Gangsta (real name Shanduke McPhatter), confirmed that Troy Ave’s refusal to hold the proverbial bag for Mysonne sparked the beef in the first place.
Although Troy Ave’s beef with Maino, on the surface, stemmed back to claims about a “fake chain,” the real root of the beef stemmed from Maino’s defense of Taxstone after he was found guilty of shooting and killing his bodyguard.

The “Hi Hater” rapper was a guest on Angela Yee’s Power 105.1 radio show last month, just after the verdict was handed down. When asked about his thoughts on the situation, Maino – who was present at the time of the shooting at New York’s Irving Plaza – disputed the notion that Taxstone was the aggressor.
“That man was there chilling, enjoying the moment and these other dudes came in there looking for a problem. These other dudes came in there with that energy looking to try to have a moment and the moment just didn’t go their way. So I’m just in disagreement with the whole narrative of becoming a victim after you tried to be an aggressor,” he said on the radio show.
What’s more, Maino disputed the claims that Troy Ave was a rat — an accusation that China Mac made on Instagram, which is the source of his beef with Troy Ave — but he also claimed that the rapper didn’t tell the whole truth when he got on the stand, either.
“That man was never accused of murder of his friend. He was never arrested for the murder of his own friend. They was never putting the murder of his friend on him,” he continued. “[It was for] the guns that he got caught with. So he worked out a deal with the prosecutor to get less time for those guns that he got caught with. So that was his motivation to get on the stand and testify against Taxstone.”

“Say the whole truth. Don’t make it seem like that man was there to try to assassinate you and that’s not the truth. The truth of the matter is you actually came there on that time. You walked in there in that room and tried to create a situation. You thought that maybe you was gonna get you a Worldstar moment.”
