Trinidad James To Release “The Truth Will Set You Free”

In an Instagram message posted yesterday (November 16), Trinidad James said that he is planning to release “The Truth Will Set You Free,” an effort scheduled to be released Monday (November 18).

James clarified that the message is for “every New Yorker” and that “The Truth Will Set You Free” is not slated to be an album.

“You gonna want to look and listen to this,” James said in an Instagram update. “God is my witness. I had to pray about this. This is what you wanted so I gave it to ya.”

James’ Instagram post featured a screen capture of a Twitter update from his account. The Twitter update included additional information about “The Truth Will Set You Free.”

“Monday will be a big day for me,” he said on Twitter. “Either the rise or fall of me…You gonna wanna watch this.”

“The Truth Will Set You Free” targeting “every New Yorker” is likely a reference to his comments regarding New York Rap. His remarks within the last week made headlines due to the rapper’s statement that Atlanta runs New York Rap.

James has faced criticism due to those statements. Artists including Maino and Hopsin have been critical of his opinion.

“Trinidad James is the most garbage piece of rapper that has ever existed on the face of the Earth,” Hopsin said in an interview with xxlmag.com this week. “His opinion is like a newborn baby saying it’s the king of the world as far as fighting and it would whoop Bruce Lee’s ass. Like, c’mon now. What do you know about anything?”

James’ Instagram post can be viewed below, followed by his complete caption.

To Every New Yorker. On Monday “The Truth Will Set You Free” comes out. No album…Just the truth. You gonna want to look and listen to this. God is my witness I had to pray about this. This is what you wanted so I gave it to ya. The Real.

not by pretenious self-posturing and relentless running of the mouth camparing himself to others who actually made an impact with their accomplishments.

    7. Not all of his music is “good” music but he speaks some real stuff sometimes. ppl dont handle criticism too well from ppl they dont think should be doing the critiqing.
