Treach has recalled the time he and 2Pac got involved in a wild brawl at a Los Angeles comedy club that led to them falling afoul of the Crips.
Talking to The Art of Dialogue about the incident, which happened at the Comedy Store in the mid 1990s, the Naughty By Nature rapper explained that members of the Rollin’ 60s Crips and rival Bloods gangsters had clashed the week before, with the Bloods coming out on top.

According to Treach, the Crips returned to the club the following week to enact revenge, which resulted in him and ‘Pac inadvertently being caught in the crossfire.
“They came in and just started picking up chairs and bottles. We heard the commotion in the back. Before we got a chance to look back, bow! I got hit in the head with a chair,” he remembered.

“That’s when I walked around with the big chain, so I took that shit off immediately. ‘Pac and everybody that was with us picked up bottles and chairs, and there was just an all-out brawl. So we ended up fighting our way outta there.”
Despite escaping from the hairy situation, Treach and 2Pac didn’t come away without repercussions.
“It was so real we actually had gotten green lit by the 60s. A green light is like on sight, n-ggas is gonna roll on you and handle business — it’s a hit,” he said.
“So I had to get up with my family that was out there … We sat down in Compton and basically let it be known we ain’t disrespected the gang, we was just doing what we had to do to get up outta there. So they took the green light off and the rest is history.”
Comedian Guy Torry previously discussed the story as he was also inside the Comedy Store at the time and had a friendship with 2Pac.
“Before I started doing my night, Fat Tuesdays at the Comedy Store, Eddie Griffin did a night and an incident happened where 2Pac and Treach were sitting next to each other and I guess the fight spilled over to their table,” Guy told HipHopDX in 2019.

“Treach used to wear that big old chain, not a gold chain but that pull-a-pick-up-truck chain, so he started beating the guy with the chain. So he and 2Pac were side by side beating up a guy.”
Kurupt also previously claimed that the incident led to 2Pac earning a lot of respect among the West Coast Hip Hop scene.
