Tory Lanez’s music could potentially be used as evidence in his ongoing felony assault trial against Megan Thee Stallion, who he allegedly shot in the feet in July 2020.

Law & Crime reporter Meghann Cuniff noted on Twitter on Tuesday (December 21) that Judge Herriford has declared Tory’s discography “fair game” if he’s asked to testify.

It remains unclear if he will, but District Attorney Alexander Bott said if Lanez does take the stand, he’ll take a look at the rapper’s music video for “CAP” in which he’s seen “butchering horse feet, clearly directed at Megan.”

The video wouldn’t be the first to piece of music to be cited in the trial. Earlier this week, a diss song recorded by Megan’s former friend and assistant, Kelsey Harris, was mentioned by the defense to imply that Meg had lied to the district attorney.

The latest development in this heated trial comes shortly after forensic scientist Marc Scott Taylor told the court that Tory Lanez’s DNA was not found on the magazine of the gun used in the alleged shooting, and that tests done on the DNA found on the gun itself were inconclusive.

Additionally, a man named Sean Kelly testified on Tuesday (December 20) that he saw the entire confrontation from his bedroom window. Kelly said he saw a “violent” fight breakout between two women before an “angry male” entered the mix.

He alleged he saw the first muzzle flash nearest to “the girls… about the same time the smallest individual (Lanez) got out of the car.” “I believe I saw the girl shoot first,” he said. “[But] I believed it was fireworks.”

He then said the male, who he presumed to be Tory Lanez, began shooting next. “I just saw he was very angry, shouting, and then the flashes then came from him. I never saw a gun,” Kelly added. “They were all fighting, so I just assumed he grabbed the gun.”

The neighbor also alleged that the whole group began beating up on one woman. “She was in a fetal position. She was all curled up on the floor and they were punching and kicking her. They were all beating her,” he told the jury.

Tory Lanez faces three charges related to the alleged shooting: felony assault with a semiautomatic firearm, possession of a concealed, unregistered firearm and discharging a firearm with gross negligence. He’s pleaded not guilty to all three.
