Jay Z’s Tidal No Longer Top 700 iPhone App

Tidal, a Top 20 iPhone app in the United States two week ago, is no longer one of the top 700 apps for the carrier, according to BGR.

Jay Z’s streaming service announced in March that it would be paying artists a higher royalty rate than Spotify and Pandora.

Shares of Aspiro, the parent company of the Swedish music streaming service Tidal that was purchased by Hov last month for $56 million, spiked 938%

Last week that Andy Chen, the CEO of Jay Z’s Aspiro, the parent company of the Swedish music streaming service Tidal that was purchased by Hov last month for $56 million, left the company.

As Tidal loses ground, Pandora and Spotify are now the #3 and #4 on iPhone’s revenue chart in the United States, respectively, the BGR story says.

Dr. Dre’s Beats Music is also been appearing on iPhone’s Top 20 revenue chart domestically.

    1. Hilarious, I knew this would flop. This tidal thing seems to be better for artists, but does nothing new for consumers.

    2. haha tidal the service to make multi-millionaires even richer from ur shit paycheck so fucking dumb. unless they on the grind humble or a new artist who don’t brag bout money the whole time I aint supporting them

      1. You’re a Nas stan yourself, you talk about him every time you post a comment. Get off his dick bro. By the way, Nas is the one who first used “stan” as an insult when he called Jay that on ether. You hate Nas, but love the treads he started. lol

    3. Jay-Z needs to go back to letting other people make money for him. The “new rules” phone thing failed with his Manga Carter album. He isn’t a business man, he is good at picking people who can make money for him. Tidal had the dumbest commercial ever, coming out with a bunch of very rich artists claiming they ain’t making no money. Back fired real quick. Sorry, greedy fucks.

      1. Seriously, man i think it’s high time that Jay Z learnt that. MCHG was a flop. Tidal was meant to go downhill. No one would pay extra money for hifi. A lot of people dont even know what hifi music is. spotify is still the king of the hill.
