As the Falcons face their division rivals the New Orleans Saints on Sunday (November 26), the legendary line-up of artists will be the pre-game entertainment at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
With an extensive collection of acts that also includes Jermaine Dupri, CeeLo Green and Goodie Mob, Killer Mike, JID, DJ Drama, Bow Wow, Rich Homie Quan, Pastor Troy and Yung Joc, the Falcons are encouraging fans to arrive at the stadium early as the show begins at 12:30 p.m.
In total, over 60 artists will be celebrated spanning the entire 50 years of Hip Hop, but it has not yet been revealed what form the performance will take as it is occurring 30 minutes before kick off, leaving little time for full performances from all of the artists.
“We are extremely excited to celebrate this milestone and invite fans and the entire Atlanta community to join us,” said Tameka Rish, senior vice president of fan and associate experience at AMB Sports and Entertainment.
“The Hip Hop community and the Atlanta Falcons have forged a close relationship since the early nineties, influenced by the drafting of Deion Sanders. Artists such as Jermaine Dupri, André 3000, Big Boi, Ludacris and T.I. rose to prominence during the era of Michael Vick’s top-selling number 7 jersey across all sports.”
“This is a relationship that has not only endured but flourished, reflecting Atlanta’s continued significance in the Hip Hop world,” she added. “Our ongoing collaboration with artists like Jeezy, 2 Chainz, Quavo, Pastor Troy and the broader Hip Hop community remains a top priority, as it embodies our profound dedication to the culture of Atlanta and our commitment to unity.”
Fans in attendance will also be able to purchase limited edition merchandise that reflects Hip Hop’s influence on the team and Atlanta area.
The pre-game show will also be accompanied by specially-made visuals that are said to provide a 360-degree experience in the stadium.
While the show features some of the most notable names associated with Atlanta’s Hip Hop scene, there are some big artists missing such as André 3000, Future, Gucci Mane, 2 Chainz, 21 Savage, Lil Baby and Lil Jon.
