T.I. has unleashed a new diss song aimed at 50 Cent following their recent back-and-forth over a potential Verzuz battle.
Released late Sunday (February 22), the aptly-titled “War” finds the Grand Hustle general firing warning shots at his G-Unit adversary and tempting him back into the proverbial ring.
“Top three in my city, I know I’m in there / And I ain’t number three, what you gettin’ at? / I know we ain’t tryin’ to pretend that the king won’t get a sledgehammer for an insect,” Tip spits over a thunderous, battle-ready beat.
The self-proclaimed King of the South also dismisses a “big dog talkin’ real Shih Tzu” and warns his opp to “settle down” otherwise he’ll “turn ya head around on a cap, n*gga, better get a gown / But the only place your head is in the ground.”
The brief minute-long track ends with T.I. asking: “Oh, you n*ggas want war?” before letting out an evil laugh.
50 Cent has yet to respond.
“War” intensifies T.I. and 50’s long-running rivalry, which has reignited in recent weeks amid talk of them potentially facing off in a Verzuz battle.
Earlier this month, Tip revived his interest in going against Fif in Swizz Beatz and Timbaland‘s popular soundclash series, only for the Queens, New York native to call him “King Rat” and tell him to “keep my name out ya mouth.”
The Atlanta rap legend hit back: “You playing on MY NAME when only one of us a rat in real life…you know I got your paperwork right? And my transcript is available online. Your excuses is useless. Get yo ho ass in the box or STFU and live in fear. You soft son.”
T.I. later said on Million Dollaz Worth of Game that he has “lost respect” for 50 Cent and no longer “wants to stand on stage with that n*gga.”
He also claimed that 50 previously agreed to do a Verzuz battle but backed out.
The back-and-forth has since turned personal, with 50 Cent posting an unflattering photo of T.I.’s wife Tiny on Instagram while likening his son King Harris (who had taken issue with his aforementioned post) to Pepe the Frog.
That was disappointing, Tip. I expect more from you.
