The Roots To Hold Free Concert In New York

    Grammy Award winning Hip Hop group, The Roots, are giving back to fans this holiday season with a free concert tonight in New York City. Hip Hop’s premier live band will grace the stage of Time Square’s B.B. Kings Blues Club, in what is being referred to as the “Okayplayer Holiday Jammy.”

    Other artists performing at tonight’s “Okayplayer Holiday Jammy” include DJ Soul and Tanya Morgan.

    “It’s dope being part of the Okayplayer family and always fun sharing the stage with The Roots, they are the industry standard in Hip Hop stage shows,” Tanya Morgan‘s DonWill told HipHopDX.

    In similar news, The Roots recently wrapped up their European tour, and in March 2009 they will serve as the house band for comedian Jimmy Fallon‘s new late night television show. Their eighth album, Rising Down [click to read], was released in April of this year.
