The Game Says The Internet Tricks People Into Listening To ‘Wack Ass Music’

The Game has been pumping out albums since 2005’s The Documentary. Needless to say, his experience in the music industry runs deep. On Tuesday (February 25), the veteran rapper hopped on Twitter to let his one million followers know the internet is to blame for pushing subpar music on the masses.

“The internet forces you to listen to wack ass music,” he wrote. “It’s so much of it, you’re brainwashed to thinkin the shit actually sound like sumn.”

Reactions to The Game’s post varied, although most of his commenters seemed to support his sentiments.

An Australian fan wrote, “Mate what has happened to US rap tho. Old school all the way,” while another woman wrote, “Couldnt agree more and not to mention all these mumble rappers.”

    Is he right?

    1. Say names and the type of music! You know what it is! His handlers won’t let him say names cause it’ll mess up their money. Trap music is trash!

        1. Hey Ty, historically yes, Game calls out wake rappers by name. However, since trap music has taken over, no one “non-trap” has gone after trap music or artists. JayZ couldn’t do a DOT Death of Trap today. JCole tried to make an anti-trap album KOD, but he secretly just wanted to make trap music himself. You have to be honest here. Trap music is the biggest decline in hiphop as an art form, but financially trap music is doing great. Which is why the handlers won’t let non-trap artist go after trap music and trap artists. It’ll mess up their money. Lately, Royce, Eminem, Game, and countless others comment on “wack rappers” but they’re all scared to go after trap music. It’s all WWE anyway. The labels/handlers manipulate stream numbers and hype up artists who are sub par. Social media is to blame too. Fake hype.

    2. Rap actuallity is trash.. Example
Migos, nba youngboy, lil uzi vert, lil baby, lil lpump, City girls, gucci mane, bad bunny, anuel aa, mo3, gunna, lil keed, rich the bich, lil yatchi ?

      1. I couldn’t agree more with you, this guy has songs with Lil Yatchy or boat and have the nerve to write such a caption. I don’t think this rapper was made for stardom he is even more than ya the fans. His first feat with Eminem he sounded exactly like Eminem, collaborated with Kendrick and wanted to be kendrick, recently released a track with some Kennedy and had Nipsey written all over his flow. He is the biggest simp in hiphop think I am lying follow his half brother big fase on IG and get the truth. Always reaching out for features this new rapper D smoke was trending Game already reach out to him for a feature now D smoke just released an album you see any Game feature on it? Nah. When was the last time kendrick called this guy for a feature? Never. He is denouncing the same industry he was chasing back then after he recorded a demo with JT tha Bigga figga aka FIGG PANAMERA tricked him and looked for people in the industry to listen to his demo now he was given a shot and is now known internationally only to come back and say don’t sign. I am so embarrassed I was a fan of his music and he is a horrible human of a being.

    3. Game isn’t wrong, but he is a hypocrite. He has worked with sooo many terrible rappers, that should have never become household names. Also, Games last album was not anything great at all. In general, game hasn’t really made anything I like since the G Unit time period.

      1. That’s your opinion and it’s very subjective. The Doctor’s advocate is a really great album. Same with Jesus Piece and Documentary 2.

      2. Nigga shut up!! Game a legend. And made classic albums. 50 has made garbage since 2005. Facts. All garbage albums since get rich.

        1. Lol, no need to get so butthurt. It’s just my personal tastes. I’m a huge 50 cent fan, and I agrree his albums are mostly trash. It’s his underground rap that is great.

    4. The game is right. Its not about talent anymore expect for HIP HOP MUSIC. Most rappers couldn’t survive in the HIP HOP arena. Its funny the radio doesn’t play HIP HOP anymore. Imo, the corporations want no compromises between DOPE HIP HOP and bullshit rap. Hip hop is forever and most rap fads will disappear.

    5. There’s definitely brainwashing going on, I wouldn’t blame the internet though. More like the corporate record labels that follow the blueprint Master P outlined in which they pump out lots of subpar music instead of a few classics.

    6. Radio station is blame. But the internet sucks too. At least on the internet you can choose who and what u like

    7. Pop music has always been pop music…even before the internet (I know it’s hard to believe it wasn’t always here). Wack music has been listened to and enjoyed since it’s birth. Another brain teaser is the fact that music is extremely subjective and Game’s taste isn’t the “bar”. With that said nobody forces people to listen to wack music…people are just fuckin stupid

      1. Pop music used to be way better tho. You would see Wu-Tang in the pop charts in the mid 90s before Puffy changed the game. Since then tho, it has slowly but surely become trash. I think labels are more to blame than the internet. But also like you said, people are just fuckin stupid.

    8. What’s he talking about? Brainwashing? Is this supposed to be some fake woke shit he conjured up? The problem is game isn’t a smart man and anybody who agrees with him obviously has no smarts, either. That brainwashing is called marketing garbage music throughout all types of media and it’s been around since music has been sold. Next thing you know, he’s going to say that breakfast cereal companies are trying to cater to children. Lol

      1. I agree with you 1 gazillion times you are so so so so so so freaking right. Even his half brother said it he is not smart. How many labels has he claimed to start and it went no where? Your point is so so so valid

      1. You sure cause its all black kids with man purses and face tats with pink skinny jeans and some purple leather boots

    9. He’s actually 100% correct and there’s science to back up his claims. With the rise of analytics and bug data which is usually only talked about in sports or privacy concerns but it’s used in literally all aspects of life now. Companies are able to create formulas of sounds that can consistently sell more than they ever could. There was a study done that measured how similar songs sound and how similar lyrics are over time and the rate in the last decade went through the roof. And to his point about quantity brainwashing people that’s also been proven as well over exposure to a certain type of music that you may have disliked at first most likely over time will make you like it. On a personal level I remember back on like 2011 or 12 when trap first got poppin me and all my friends hated and thought it sucked but over time most of my friends were exposed to it by the radio, social media, parties, and just being around other ppl and they love it its all they listen to. Only me and one other friend who made a conscious decision to not listen to the shit because we’re both naturally hard headed as fuck still hate trap till this day.

    10. I am from the west coast and was a huge game fan back in the day. But this is hypocritical. Game hasn’t released a good album since LAX. The main reason being every album he has made since then, he is just trying to mimic any hot sound that is currently on the radio. I was super disappointed with Born To Rap.

    11. After these comments had to go back and listen to Born 2 Rap again to make sure I wasn’t tripping. Tracks 3-8 are dope, Gucci flip flops and I didn’t want to write this song are up there with anything he’s done. I don’t know any 21 Savage music but I’m sure he can’t rap any better than he does on The code. Ya’ll buggin…

    12. I’m pretty sure the internet spawned the independent artist wave.. and also granted us..as consumers..the ability to find and listen to MORE music than we ever have before ..in the history of music

the internet ain’t the problem ..what you choose to listen to is
