The Game is coming to the aid of those affected by the devastating fires in his hometown of Los Angeles.
As several enormous blazes continued to burn down parts of the city, the Compton rapper announced on Wednesday (January 8) that he is helping to provide safety and shelter to families who have been forced to evacuate their homes.
“Me & [talent manager Travis Wilson] are helping 10 families effected [sic] by the fires here get into @airbnb for a week free of charge [praying hands emoji],” he wrote on his Instagram Stories.
He then directed those interested to message Wilson on Instagram, adding: “Must have an identification or drivers license with address in the affected areas.”
A number of ferocious wildfires erupted across the greater Los Angeles area on Tuesday (January 7), fueled by powerful winds and dry conditions.
At least five people have been killed and over 100,000 people have been displaced, with emergency services struggling to contain the fires as resources are stretched thin and water supplies are running dry.
Over 2,000 structures have been burned down across more than 27,000 acres of land, making it the most destructive fires in L.A. history. It is estimated that the total cost of the damage could surpass $50 billion.
As of Thursday morning (January 9), five major fires remain uncontained, with the latest starting on Wednesday evening in the Hollywood Hills.
Fellow California native Snoop Dogg also reacted to the tragedy on social media, sharing a graphic on Instagram that said: “Pray for Los Angeles. Lord, deliver the City of Angels.”
Missy Elliott added on her Instagram Stories: “My prayers go out to those in LA. Seeing the videos and pictures are devastating so you can only imagine those people who are going through it. So many prayers through such a difficult time.”
In a somewhat bizarre post on X, Meek Mill said: “Prayers to la. I never knew about fire trauma until my house caught on fire…. I was smelling fire in my sleep jumping up for 3 years… I didnt know that type of trauma existed, so I was just dealing with it as a kid!”

There was water, but not enough pressure to push the water uphill. The reason for this is two part: 1. hundreds of hydrants were stolen for scrap metal in the past 6 months and 2. They were using four times the normal demand for 15 hours straight.. both factors lowered the water pressure. As for the budget…. no clue. Bud the police budget and homeless programs just got a bunch of money, so that’s probably your starting point….

I would never wish for someone to loose their home in a fire. But I gotta ask, was there any home destroyed valued under 5 million ? Why everytime California has fires, only rich peoples homes go up in flames, and compton, watts, and inglewood get spared ?
