Rappers spend a lot of time glorifying the “rap life,” now we are getting a chance to see it. Recent DVD releases from Tha Liks and Xzibit have given a unique and intriguing glimpse into what it is like on tour, drinking, drugs, groupies etc. The success of these DVDs, as well as others, have led every one to try and get a piece of the action.
DJ Quik is not only preparing for his album release on May 14 but he is shooting for his upcoming DVD in Los Angeles. No date or title has given DVD which will feature an original soundtrack.
Also in Los Angeles, editors have been going through of hours of footage from WC’s personal collection to compile for a DVD. Footage includes his tours with Ice Cube, the Up In Smoke tour and much more. Camera crews have also been filming WC in the studio as he prepares his next album.
Lastly, Fortress Entertainment will be releasing a documentary type DVD on Run DMC. The disc will contain glimpses into their personal lives and old footage shot by the members themselves. Look out for this one in the latter months of 2002.
