In 1996, Kool Keith, Dan The Automater and DJ Q-Bert made an album that is still ahead of it’s time 6 years later. Dr Octagon “Dr Octagonecologyst” is a classic album that has become even more of a gem after “killed” Dr Octagon due to politics surrounding the album. Dr Octagon was killed by his evil twin, Dr Dooom. I know it all sounds strange, but it is Kool Keith we are talking about.
Well, according to Rolling Stone, Keith is bringing Dr Oct back to life for one more bizarre ride. Unfortunately, Automater will not be involved this time around and there is no word if DJ Q-Bert will be. “I made up the name Dr. Octagon. That was my group,” Keith told Rolling Stone. “I chose to bring Automator in to work on the project. I gave Automator his introduction to the music industry, gave him his first start. With this album, I will make another person and create another star.”
The album should be ready in February of 2003 and will be released on CMH Records. Last I heard, Keith was working on album for 10 of his personas, including Dr Octagon, Dr Dooom, Big Willie Smith and Sinister 6000. He is also doing a group project with his group KMH.
