The Cool Kids Added To Lollapalooza 2011 Lineup

Eminem will headline the annual Lollapalooza music festival in Chicago’s Grant Park this year. According to the Chicago Tribune, Em will join The Foo Fighters, Muse, and three other unnamed main acts at the top of the bill.

Eminem’s appearance will be somewhat of a departure from his previous touring habits. Aside from album tours and his recent jaunt with Jay-Z, Em tends to lay low when it comes to the music festival forum. The announcement comes just a few days before the Grammy Awards, where Eminem’s Recovery will go up against Lady Gaga’s The Fame Monster and Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream in the Best Album of the Year category.

Although the full Lollapalooza line-up will not be officially confirmed until April, other artists rumored to appear are Girl Talk, Lykke Li, and Best Coast. The festival will go from August 5-7.

UPDATE (04/26): After various reports that Eminem would headline the 20th anniversary Lollapalooza concert, festival organizers confirmed Em’s presence by releasing the official lineup. Eminem’s fellow “I Need A Doctor” collaborator, Skylar Grey, is listed among nearly a dozen other Hip Hop and R&B performers, which naturally sparked rumors that Dr. Dre would pop in for a surprise performance. Lollapalooza founder Perry Farrell told MTV he couldn’t confirm the rumor one way or another, but he did praise Em’s reputation as a live performer and said he would “put in a call” regarding the Dr. Dre rumor. A complete list of performers is available at the official Lollapalooza website.

    Notable Lollapalooza Performers:
    Nas and Damian Marley
    Cee-Lo Green
    Atmosphere
    Tinie Tempah
    Sam Adams
    Mayer Hawthorne
    Ryan Leslie
    Kid Cudi
    Jay Electronica
    Collie Buddz
    Skylar Grey

      1. Your fucking joking right, Your joking Jonas brothers Justin Beiber, Soulja boy. Why not the Wiggles And every fucking body from Disney that would make this concert the Gosh darn dandiest.

      2. HAHAHAHA, that’s great. You really went beyond the call of duty when it comes to shitty music by including Brokencyde and ICP.

      3. I don’t agree with you on what you said about eminem but those are some good acts in your tour line up. Of course you left out quite a few great acts like jay z, kanye west, and nas that alot of hip hop heads would like to see, but as far as the general public those acts you mentioned are not bad even though I don’t know a couple of them.

    3. HHDX are a bunch of idiots. Cool Kids were added, but Jay Electronica is no longer on the lineup. Do your homework, morons.

    4. @superguccirap Hopsin is dope,Canibus is an asshole but he’s still dope,Vinnie Paz dope t fuck is ur problem u put them in the same category as those retards ??Jesus
