Tee Grizzley’s brother has been sentenced to four years and nine months in federal prison after he was convicted of illegal gun possession.
According to the Justice Department, rapper Baby Grizzley (real name Marcellus Wallace) was pulled over by Royal Oak Police on the night of December 8, 2020 along with co-defendant Nolan Dasgupta-Francis and another man due to their car’s headlights being turned off.

As police approached the driver’s side window, they spotted two red solo cups in the cup holders near the driver. Wallace and Dasgupta-Francis told police they had been drinking and were not the driver, with Dasgupta-Francis allegedly pulling out a partially drunk bottle of Johnnie Walker Black.
However, the officers asked everyone to get out of the car due to the “open intoxicants” and they proceeded to search the vehicle, at which point they found “two fully loaded semiautomatic pistols on the floorboard where Wallace had been seated.” Police then found two more semiautomatic pistols near where Dasgupta-Francis was sitting.
According to court records, Baby Grizzley then allegedly tried to bribe the driver of the vehicle to take responsibility for the guns after the pair had been placed in the back of a squad car together. Court records show the rapper, who had just received $300,000 in cash advance for signing a record deal, allegedly offered the unnamed driver $20,000.
Dasgupta-Francis was sentenced to 45 months in federal prison by United States District Judge Laurie J. Michelson. Both Grizzley and Dasgupta-Francis still have to face parole violation hearings with the Michigan Department of Corrections, as the former reportedly committed the federal crime less than two months after having been released from a state prison where he had served time for robbery.

Shortly after Baby Grizzley’s arrest, Tee Grizzley posted a picture of his brother’s mugshot with an emotional message in the caption that read: “Free Bro this Shìt just crushed me but ima hold this shit down like I been doing my boy I got us @babyygrizzleytd.”
