SZA Shares Unreleased Track During Grammy Week Performance

SZA has gifted fans with a preview of an unreleased song, just weeks after airing out people who leak her music.

This week, spectators were delighted when the “Snooze” singer performed a snippet of the track during her Apple Music Live concert. The unexpected treat intensified speculation that she’s actively working on new music.

The singer previously shared several snippets of the song via social media in the summer of 2023. In a recent Rolling Stone profile, she shared that the track is called “DTM,” for “doing too much.”

“Vocal range is just wow,” wrote one fan below a clip of the performance that made it’s way to social media.

“She deserves AOTY,” a second user wrote (SZA’s SOS is in fact up for Album of the Year at this year’s Grammys).

Last month, the “I Hate U” singer took to X (formerly Twitter) where she waged war on would-be leakers, promising to hold them accountable after her music was leaked online.

“LEAKING MY MUSIC IS STEALING,” she wrote. “THIS IS MY JOB. THIS IS MY LIFE AND MY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY. YOU ARE A FUCKING THIEF AND I PROMISE TO PUT MAXIMUM ENERGY INTO HOLDING EVERYONE ACCOUNTABLE TO THE FULL EXTENT OF THE LAW. I AM TIRED.”

Back in June, the leak of SZA’s verse for the Lil Tjay and 6LACK crossover “Calling My Phone” caused her to pull back her consent to appear on the track.

In other SZA news, she recently reunited with TDE’s Isaiah Rashad for a duet of “Heavenly Father” at a Cilvia Demo anniversary show.

The two performed together at Rashad’s show at The Wiltern in Los Angeles, California on Tuesday night (January 30) to celebrate the 10th anniversary of his debut project.

After the performance, SZA spoke to the crowd, saying: “This was a very special time in our lives. We still lived together, we shared the same bedroom. We argued over toilet paper. I love him, this is my brother.”

Meanwhile, SZA who dominated the music scene in 2023, is leading the pack at this year’s Grammy’s with nine nominations, followed by Victoria Monét and Phoebe Bridges with seven each.

She is also set to storm the stage with to perform during the live ceremony, which will be broadcast on CBS and available for streaming on Paramount+ this Sunday, February 4th, at 8 p.m. ET.
