Sway & Tech Present 100k Rap Battle

Though you see him on MTV every day as a correspondent, Sway Calloway has been a staple in Hip Hop culture since the early 90’s. Alongside partner and friend King Tech, they created The Wake Up Show in 1991 hoping to give their listeners a chance to seek out new artists before they did it big.

A decade and a half later, they’re still going strong with The Wake Up Show and now they want to find the next artist destined for greatness; you.

In collaboration with URsession.com, Sway and Tech have created a contest called “The 100 K Rap Battle,” which gives aspiring rappers and singers a chance to show off their talents that could possibly bring them exposure and money.

The title of the contest is derived from the fact that over 20 nationally-renowned producers have contributed to the competition by lending free, never-before heard beats for people to rap over that would have cost one-hundred thousand dollars to buy. Producers involved include 9th Wonder, Pete Rock, Evidence, THX, and DJ Babu to name a few.

To compete, people first have to sign up at URsession.com. Once they become members, they are allowed to post their best song and other users will vote on which ones they think are best. The top vote-getter gets two tickets to The Wake Up Show, and will receive exposure on a radio that is syndicated in over a dozen cities spanning the country. On top of that, they win a cash prize of $5,000.

For more details and registration, hit up http://ursession.com/wakeupshow. The contest began April 1st, so there is more than enough time to sign up and compete.
