Suge Knight: 1 Down, A Lot More To Go

The Federal Government dropped a racketeering probe against Suge Knight this past Tuesday in exchange for a number of things. Under the terms of the agreement, Suge will plead guilty to failing to submit an income tax return and will pay a $100,000 fine. He will also have to pay an unspecified amount in back taxes. Suge’s lawyer told the LA Times that he received a letter from the U.S. Attorneys office stating that the charges would be dropped.

This all came about because Suge failed to pay taxes on $825, 716 on income that Death Row generated between Dec. 1, 1995 and Nov. 30th 1996. Suge blamed this on their shady accountant who was embezzling money from them at the time, the firm that the accountant represented settled out of court some time ago and paid Suge 8 million. My bets are that the accountant still ends up dead.

Suge had this to say about the situation, “The truth is the truth.” I appreciate the fact that, after looking into these lies and finding nothing, they had the integrity to say, ‘OK, this guy broke no law,’ and called it off.”
