Special Ed has never been afraid to give credit where credit is due — and even the Hip Hop pioneer couldn’t help but show some love to 2Pac for getting him a cameo in the classic film, Juice.

During an interview with Drink Champs, which dropped on Saturday (September 16), the Brooklyn native talked about the time that the late California rapper did him a solid.

“I wasn’t really supposed to be in the movie,” he said. “What happened was, I read for the part, because I wanted to be in the movie at the time. So when I went to the set, I went to the set to go fuck with Pac, you know?”

He continued: “We was tight. So, I produced records for Pac. When I saw who they casted for the part I read for, I was like, ‘how the fuck y’all get a lookalike?’ So Pac, he acted like he was about to do something, and was like, ‘yo, Imma be right back.’ And when he came back, he was like, ‘yo, Ed, I got you a little part in the movie.'”

Ed read for the part of Raheem, which went to Khalil Kain, but was given a small part in a scene featuring a guy with Raheem’s girlfriend, Keesha.

Back in 2022, Treach of Naughty by Nature also shared his memories from Juice.

During an interview with HipHopDX, he revealed there’s a part of the scene —where Tupac Shakur (who played Roland Bishop) has a scuffle with several members of a Puerto Rican gang — that people didn’t get to see.

“When you see the movie, you know who I am,” Treach said. “You’re going to know me because I’m the only dark-skinned guy in the Puerto Rican gang. When you see that you going to be like, ‘Why is this black dude over here?’ No, I said for the movie sake, I was Dominican. It was Uptown. It was actually one part with me and 2Pac when I yanked him up and grabbed him. And it was so funny, he had to hold his smile in.

“Because he looking like, ‘My homie grabbing me? This is so unlike him.’ But he’s a great actor, so he held it until they said cut. And then all of us fell on the ground.”
