Snoop Teams Up With A Real

I’m sure most of you have never heard of Dave Courtney before, so let me fill you in. Courtney is a real life gangster, the kind that they portray in movies and well, music. In fact, the character Vinnie Jones in the movie “Lock, Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels” was based on Dave Courtney. He actually appeared in “Snatch” after. Courtney was a member of the notorious London gang, The Krays, he has since become a celebrity due to his infamy. He now has his own stand up show called “An Audience With…”

Snoop met Courtney through their mutual friend Tricky at a July 4th celebration at Central Park in 2000. Snoop and Courtney recorded a track called “The Unwritten Rules Of The Courtroom.” According to Courtney it will appear on both his album and Snoop’s upcoming LP. The duo will perform the song for the first time in November and will be accompanied by Dr Dre.

“They think I’m a bigger gangster than I am,” Courtney told NME. “They’re gangsta rappers and I’m the real thing. But the better known you are, the less naughty you can be. I don’t even have Rizlas in the house.” Courtney hooked up with Snoop two months ago in Las Vegas to do the track. “I was out there to get married and we just hung out,” he said. “I’m running a little porn company in LA and Snoop sometimes uses my girls in his videos. They’re party people, sit around smoking weed all day. It was great. Dre wasn’t there, but he wants to do the song in November. The people who put together the ‘Up In Smoke’ tour video for them all last year are looking after where and when we’ll sing.”
