The long-awaited Dogg Pound album is about ready to hit the streets. The group, consisting of DPG representatives Snoop Dogg, Daz Dillinger and Kurupt is bringing back the Westcoast flavor they’re known for on Cali Iz Active.
“We just came back together and made a classic Dogg Pound gangsta album,” says Daz.
To gear up for the new album, and to promote Cali the group will join West coast legend Ice Cube on the road. Cube is currently promoting Laugh Now, Cry Later and his hit-show Black. White.
The Dogg Pound record will be out through Doggy Style Records and Koch. Look out for guest spots from RBK, Soopafly, Paul Wall, David Banner, Busta Rhymes among others. Behind the boards, expect to hear a diverse sound from Swizz Beats, Battlecat, The Alchemist, Fredwreck and Jazze Phae.
“A lot of people came together to make this Dogg Pound record the biggest and best it can be, and with Snoop’s leadership we can never go wrong,” says Kurupt in a statement.
Snoop also adds that he is more like a quarterback. I’m the one that puts everything in the proper perspective. Get everyone thinking alike, moving alike, loving alike. Let everybody know that it’s built on love first. If we love each first, the music will kick right in,” he added.
Expect their album to drop Real Soon, as they are aiming for a release date in late June.
