Snoop Dogg has grown his business portfolio into a vast and varied empire over the years, but Tha Doggfather is driven by more than just profits.
The rap legend, who has a finger in markets as wide-ranging as cannabis and cookbooks, sports and spirits, and fashion and fire pits, spoke about his philanthropic philosophy in an interview with TIME magazine, which has named him one of the 100 most influential people of 2025.
“You can pay me, but that ain’t all we doing,” he explained of his approach to endorsement deals. “We gonna make sure you take care of this community initiative that I have. And it could be silent or it can be loud, but that’s a part of the deal as well.”
Snoop was also asked if he’s worried about oversaturing his brand, to which he “politely but firmly” replied: “The way you framing it, with all due respect, is like I’ll do anything. I want you to frame it like I’ll do anything if I own the brand. That’s a big difference. So me marketing and branding for a company — if I don’t own it, I ain’t fucking with it.”

The Missionary MC’s generosity was on full display earlier this year when his hometown of Los Angeles was devastated by a series of deadly wildfires.
“I got a lot of people that’s out there on the ground that’s making things happen. I’m pushing buttons, making things happen, and making sure that the right people are getting the things they need,” he said during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in January.
“Because a lot of time when we put these donations together, certain people don’t get it. So we need to make sure that everybody who needs this gets this. So what my team does, is we go on the ground and we make sure that we make a direct connection with those people and aren’t missing anybody.”
He also revealed that he received a call from a bank that “wants to help out” and “contribute money to people that lost their homes.”
Ah, so that high sugar content cereal that was double the price of the brands it was a knock off of was good for the community? It was junk food that died quickly because it was a rip off. And it wasn’t even creative. I mean “Snoop Hoopz” fruit cereal? At least come up with something innovative and different.
🐂💩
These rappers smh. Here is a rapper who built his career by glorying gangbangin, pimpin and taking drugs. He produced porn movies, made gangsta rap albums and opened some shops to sell weed. He poured all this shit into the ears, the eyes and the brain of black kids who were watching him. And now he’s the super hero protecting his community. Well, what a great time to be alive! Hypocrisy at its finest.
Poignantly written sir.
I agree everything you’re saying sir, everything!!
This is laughable. Snoop trying to rebrand after c00ning on stage…
Trump supporter. You did your community good…is Hollywood your hood?!?
Ikr, F snoop. I was done with him after that, because if you ain’t supporting the party of supporting immigrants and children getting sex change operations, then I ain’t cool with you!!!
hiphop rejex are all retards and f8ggots
“His community” means only black people. So he’s discriminating against wypipo here. Imagine if Eminem announced the same typa race based politics? Every blue checkmark small hat on X would be cancelling dude. Spotify would remove all his music. Dropped from the label. Total cancellation, smear campaign, BLM typa riots in every fuckin city. But this way around it’s all kosher. The small hats have weaponized black people against whitey (because “muh six million”).
