It’s a debate that has long plagued the most ardent of Hip Hop fans: who has delivered the greatest guest verse of all time. Now, Complex has come through with a list that awards Nas, Snoop Dogg and others with the best guest features of all time.
Complex recently compiled a list with the 50 greatest guest verses in Hip Hop history. Although artists like R.A. the Rugged Man on Jedi Mind Tricks’ “Uncommon Valor: A Vietnam Story” and Method Man on the Notorious B.I.G.’s “The What” took honors, it was Nas on Main Souce’s “Live at the BBQ” and Snoop Dogg on Dr. Dre‘s “Nuthin’ But a G Thang” that topped the list.
“It’s a testament to the lyrical fortitude of Nasty Nas that he managed to stand-out on this track, considering that all four participants came off something lovely on this incredible posse cut (even non-rapper Joe Fatal kills it with his “written-by-committee” verse),” the article reads. “Opening up the track, Nas’ debut appearance might just be the most hard-hitting debut in the history of rap…it was clear that this young upstart was about to usher in a new standard of excellence.”
Of Snoop Dogg’s verse, it says, “The diggy-diggy-doctor’s G-Funk invasion wouldn’t have been half as effective without the velvety drawl of a young Snoop Dogg. His contributions have all the makings of the now classic Doggfather formula—warnings against hoes, declarations of his prowess on the mic, and the obligatory spelling-out of his nom d’ plume. Telling us that ‘perfection is perfected’ seems a little superfluous, but that was probably just the indo smoke talking.”

they actually got a lotta shit right. I was pleasantly surprised to see Scarface on the list of guests.
People are gonna bitch and moan about which rap verse got placed ahead of some other rap verse, but the fact of the matter is that the entire list is a compilation of 50 guest appearances that were/are really fucking great.
…….Except for Nicki Minaj. That bitch only got chosen cuz she’s got a vagina. good for her. and great verse, just not “top 50.” smh
Oh and Noyd got a mention! fuck yeah!
Busta shoulda gotten one for the “About Me” remix on Raekwon’s modern-classic “Linx II” record. that verse is epic.
az lifes a bitch verse is crazy
I vote Canibus on ‘Beasts From The East’.
But they didn’t ask you for their vote. Don’t you wear headphones when you play your music? So why is it NOW you want people to know what you listen to and approve?
Da fuq you talking about?
For real. The “4,3,2,1” inclusion was dope, but it wasn’t Canibus’ best feature. Beasts from the East all day.
^ the FIRST time ANYONE outshined Reggie on a track !!!!

Complex Been A Joke
Their lists are terrible. I think they’ve a 25 year old doing their lists. Even Rolling stone.
I totally agree that they have terrible list and they can be predictable in the sense you know they have there favorites but i don’t get what you’re implying when you say they have a “25 year old” doing the list?
Complex made a wack list once again!!!!
Drake’s Verse on Stay Scheming Made It, But Jay-Z’s Verse from Drop It Like It’s Hot Remix was completely snubbed!
everyone knows that Busta on Scenario set the standard for guest verses
I don’t think an argument can made against that statement
xzibit on Bitch Please
WURD!!!
How about X’s verse on “Money, Cash, Hoes” or Originator 99 on “Nigga What, Nigga Who?”
Or possibly Bleek’s verse on “It’s Alright”.
Hard Knock Life Volume 2 was littered with great features.
Eminem was all over this list lol. Like 5 verses. I aint even mad doe…
To make a list about the best guest verses, ain’t easy
It would cost me a day or two, and even then I would scratch my head
