Snoop Dogg Named Keynote Speaker For SXSW Music Conference

    Snoop Dogg has been named the keynote speaker for this year’s SXSW Music Conference and Festival, the organizers responsible for the annual event, which takes place in Austin, Texas, announced today (March 10).

    While the festivities are scheduled to begin Friday, March 13, the keynote is slated to take place on Friday, March 20 at 11 AM CST in Ballroom A of the the Austin Convention Center.

    Snoop Dogg’s keynote conversation is open to all Music and Platinum registrants and registered showcasing artists.

    Snoop isn’t the only Hip Hop artist participating in a Keynote Conversation at SXSW. RZA has also been tapped to speak alongside Ava Duvernay (Selma) during the film conference.

    It’s unclear what Snoop will discuss with attendees, but he is currently prepping his new album, Bush, which was produced by Pharrell Williams. Bush is scheduled to be released May 12 via Columbia Records.

    Snoop has also transitioned into digital programming with his YouTube original series “GGN News.”
