Snoop Dogg’s Daughter ‘Hoping To Be Home Soon’ Following Stroke

Snoop Dogg‘s daughter seems to be doing a lot better after suffering from a stroke earlier this week, and she is hopeful about her recovery.

On Friday (January 19), just a day after Cori Broadus landed in the hospital, the 24-year-old took to her Instagram stories to thank those who have supported her and express that she wishes to go back home soon.

“I truly appreciate all the love and support fr,” she wrote. “again I’m human and I go thru shit like everybody else which is why I’m so open about my life because I know I feel alone but we are never alone someone is always going thru damn near the same. still here hoping to be home soon.”

Earlier this week, Broadus was rushed to the hospital after suffering what she described as “a severe stroke.” The cause behind her current condition remains unknown, though she has been battling lupus — an autoimmune disease for which there is no cure — for most of her life.

“I had a severe stroke this am. I started breaking down crying when they told me,” she wrote on her Instagram Stories in the early hours of Thursday (January 18).

In a follow-up slide, she added: “Like I’m only 24 what did I do in my past to deserve all of this.”

Last year, Broadus sat down with PEOPLE to discuss her struggles with lupus, which she was diagnosed with at the age of 6.

“I’ve been good, better than I’ve ever been,” she said. “I stopped taking all of my medication like five months ago. I’m just doing everything natural, all types of herbs, sea moss, teas. I started working out, drinking lots of water. So now I think my body’s like, OK, this is the new program and she’s getting used to it.

“I’ve had medication since I was 6 years old, depending on these drugs all my life. So I wanted better for myself.

“I wanted to change because it just became a lot. I’m only 24 years old, taking 10 to 12 pills every single day. So I kind of just went cold [t]urkey.”
