During an exclusive conversation with HipHopDX last week (October 22), Master P revealed that No Limit at one time debated whether to sign Eminem and T.I. during the raucous label’s 1990s pinnacle. In a separate exclusive interview with DX, Silkk The Shocker elaborates on those discussions and adds that No Limit also considered bringing India Arie over to The Tank.
“I know that we was cool with T.I.,” Silkk tells HipHopDX exclusively. “Eminem for sure. One other person that we were really close to signing was India Arie. She came to the office and we were about to [sign her]. We just didn’t know what to do with her, but we knew she was talented. And we knew Eminem was super talented. We just didn’t know how to make that transition with a white rapper. But hey, we messed up on that one. We definitely was close to signing Eminem and India Arie. I know P was close with T.I. I wasn’t a part of that conversation. But definitely those two. We just didn’t know what to do with them.”
Silkk says that they first met Eminem in Los Angeles and that they were also close to recording a track with the Detroit emcee.
“We didn’t get the full gist of him but he had talent then,” he says. “He was nice. I can see him being on “No Limit Soldiers.” Eminem showed love. We met Eminem out here in [Los Angeles]. He respected No Limit and we respected him. We were really close to doing a song with him. Much love to Eminem.”
Silkk The Shocker plans to release a project entitled Incredible in the coming weeks.
“I’m gonna drop this tape called Incredible because it’s been lingering forever,” he says. “I can’t tell you the name of the next one, but Incredible is the intro to it.”
Wait, India.Arie tried signing to No Limit? That’s news to me. Her career would’ve been totally different if she signed with them.

Imagine Eminem with gold fronts and a bunch of big multi color M&M candies in the background. Then a Master P intro with that whole uhhhh….and Eminem trading lyrics with a bunch of P’s homies. Yeah, that would have worked. I’m sure Eminem doesn’t regret that. LOL.
Eminem wouldent have worked with the Tank but No Limit is the biggest label in hiphop history hands down it’s unreal what they did in the 90s and I can’t wait for that Ice Cream Man 2 from P No Limit is gonna make a big comeback they have a dope roster right now
