Shaquille O’Neal has taken a different approach to the Philly anthem debate by combining both and creating something equally spectacular.
Shaq, who goes by DJ Diesel in the dance music space, played an on-field concert after the Phillies game against the Washington Nationals last Saturday. During his set at Citizens Bank Park, the Lakers legend put a polarizing topic to rest by demonstrating that you don’t always have to pick a side.

Philly natives as well as outsiders have been debating which song best represents the city: “Just Wanna Rock” by Lil Uzi Vert or “Dreams & Nightmares” by Meek Mill. The TNT host put forth a third option by taking the neutral route and mashing both songs into one.

HipHopDX recently caught up with proud Philly native DJ Jazzy Jeff, who weighed in on the friendly debate between Uzi and Meek.
“I don’t think you could ever go against Meek Mill’s ‘Dreams and Nightmares,’” he said. “Lil Uzi’s ‘Just Wanna Rock’ is a dope song. Everybody loves it, but ‘Dreams and Nightmares’ took the city by storm. It took every sports team by storm, so it’s going to be ‘Dreams and Nightmares’ for me.”
DJ Drama sparked the conversation after Uzi walked out the Philadelphia Eagles during their NFC Championship game against the San Francisco 49ers, with “Just Wanna Rock” playing through the speakers.
“I think it’s fair to say that ‘Just Wanna Rock’ has replaced—with all due respect—‘Dreams and Nightmares’ as the new anthem of Philadelphia, as the new anthem of the Philadelphia Eagles this year,” he told TMZ. “I’m looking forward to hearing that song many, many times [throughout] Super Bowl weekend.”

Meek Mill was the first to respond to Drama’s comments, with the Eagles previously using “Dreams and Nightmares” as their anthem for their Super Bowl LII championship run in 2018.
“Intro been lighting the world for 10 years!” he tweeted. “Like shaking rooms for years!”
Lil Uzi Vert later weighed in and humbly admitted that it’s too early for “Just Wanna Rock” to have surpassed “Dreams and Nightmares.”

“I don’t think so,” Uzi said when asked if his song had taken the crown. “That song like been around for a very long time, and that song is still hitting exactly the same way. I’m just gonna have to see, you know, in a couple of years or a decade or whatever.
He continued: “[Meek’s] a big homie from Philly, and that’s like one of my big homies. So I just like, feed off the energy that he gives actually to be able to even produce or put out that type of music. So like, hopefully. Like shit, hopefully he would hope that for me too. Not yet, though – it’s too early to tell.”
