Hip-Hop ‘‘Jack of all Trades’, Sha Money XL has dabbled in a number of ventures in his career and most recently Sha Money XL extended his video game scoring credits when he produced the score for Sierra Online’s Freestyle Street Basketball.
Freestyle Street Basketball is an online basketball game in which players around the country can challenge each other to a virtual game of street basketball.
“It’s an online game, very interactive between one, two, to three players and people from all over,” Sha Money XL told HipHopDX.com. “People all over the world can get to play with each other. It’s all live so if you’re online you’re playing someone who’s live on the other side. It’s always real people, there’s no subscription fee. It’s a good game, it’s a real good game. The vibe is good. The graphics are real cool.”
The score for Freestyle Street Basketball will include seven Sha Money XL produced tracks featuring Lloyd Banks, Young Hot Rod, and Riz.
Sha Money XL’s first stint in the gaming world began when he produced the score for 50 Cent’s 50 Cent: Bulletproof video game and produced an impressive 57 tracks for the video game in only a month.
“My experience in scoring stems from me scoring the whole 50 Cent: Bulletproof video game,” Sha Money XL told HipHopDX.com. “They was impressed with what I did with the video game [and] Kelly [from Vivendi Games] called me in to score this one.”
Interestingly enough, basketball themed games are the only genre of video gaming that Sha Money XL is a fan of.
“All the basketball games are my favorite,” Sha Money XL says. “I don’t play video games, I only play basketball [games]. I mean unless I’m playing with my son and he wants to play some fight, wrestling thing. I’ll play with him.”
Freestyle Street Basketball has already infiltrated the international market with over 30 million players in Asia alone.
“Right now it’s live in five Asian countries,” Sha Money XL told HipHopDX.com. “It’s huge that’s why they bringing it here. Really, really huge. Once they seen how big it was they said, ‘Let’s bring it to the states’. ‘Cause they got a hit right now.”
The launch of Freestyle Street Basketball in the United States will be on May 15.
