Scott Storch Discusses New Album, Hopes To Enlist Stevie Wonder & Quincy Jones

Scott Storch has been slowly making a comeback over the past few years, lending his production chops to Big Boi’s “Shutterbugg” and Snoop Dogg’s “Boom” featuring T-Pain. For his next move, the “Lean Back” producer will release an album that features him entirely at the helm, with hopes of tapping Stevie Wonder and Quincy Jones for the project.

“I’m doing a Scott Storch Presents album, sort of like the Khaled album,” he said. “Mine’s going to be a little different. Trying to have the likes of Quincy [Jones] and Stevie Wonder and rock people, whoever. All the things that i’m into on the album. I’m a musician. I’m not just a track maker, and I want to have some instrumental stuff that features different horn players or featuring different music, as well as my favorite emcees and singers, etc. That’s coming soon.”

There is currently no release date for the album.

      1. I’m a bit different I would probably put producers like pete or madlib on that kind of a hip hop pedestal. He said quite rightly hes a musician, but If u take someone like madlib who has done great things with Jazz music or even Guru, I’d say It artistically trumps anything Scott could have done with 50, Christina Aguilera or the roots.

    1. This could damn well be better than Detox cuz Storch not only had a big hand in many of Dr. Dre’s production but he is also more of a musician than Dr. Dre in the sense of actually playing/reading the music. Plus he’s the only producer that’s worked with Dre that’s proven he can make hits by himself. Where are al the other producers that were Dre’s co-producer. They couldnt find their own sound after leaving dre’s camp. (give or take about 2-3)

      1. @ mal moe

didn’t Dre get the bstylkes from other producers like: sam sneed natural born killers, scotch storch, mel man, daz, warren g, sir jinx, lay law etc.
