ScHoolboy Q is over the moon that his personal “GOAT” LeBron James has been listening to his new album, Blue Lips.

On Sunday (March 3), Q asked his followers on Twitter what their favorite tracks on the new LP are, and King James himself pulled up to share his picks.

“Blueslides, oHio & Time killers so far. Still [working on] it. Too many [fire] tracks G,” the superstar athlete wrote.

Retweeting the message, the Los Angeles MC replied: “My goat crossed 40k [career points] & STILL banging BLUE LIPS [fist and single tear emojis] crazy & congrats.”

In a second post, he pointed out the NBA champion’s attention to detail and added: “Bron capitalized da H & crypto arena on fig [fist emojis].. I made it again BLUE LIPS.”

In an interview with BACKONFIGG that aired on Saturday (March 2), ScHoolboy Q shared some insight into the creation process of his new album.

“I knew where I was going with it in 2019,” he explained. “Most of these songs were recorded early, lyrics wise. I always tell people, I’m more of a producer than I am a rapper.”

He also explained that he can rap as soon as he hears a beat, noting that he “cracks” as soon as he gets going.

Despite his ability to get cooking lyrically as soon as he hits record, it still took him a while to get Blue Lips to where it ended up. Though he had a concept outlined for it from the beginning, executing it was a different story.

“I explained everything … and we took literally almost five years,” the 37-year-old said with a laugh. “That’s just how I work.”

The “Collard Greens” rapper also revealed that he’s always recording, even if he’s not consistently dropping new music.

“I got more songs than Pac, for sure,” he shared. “If I’m being honest, I recycle a lot of lyrics. I have a lot of songs, but I take words from other songs.”

In the lead-up to the album release, Q spent a lot of time answering fans’ questions about his discography on social media. When one user asked him which song on the album was the hardest for him to make, the rapper answered: “BLUESLIDES,.”

Said track, of course, is a tribute to his late friend and collaboratorMac Miller, who released Blue Slide Park in 2011.
