Scarface has announced his upcoming album, Deeply Rooted, the Geto Boys artist’s first full-length album release since 2008’s Emeritus.
Deeply Rooted is also slated to be the title of his upcoming book with MySpace Director of Content Benjamin Meadows-Ingram.
“It talks about my life,” Scarface says of the projects in a video teaser about the album and book, which is below. “The good times. The bad times.”
Meadows-Ingram, who also appears in the clip, speaks highly of his working with ‘Face.
“He’s a legend,” Medows-Ingram says in the video. “It’s an honor and a privilege to work on this project. It just means a lot.”
In January, Scarface spoke about the state of Rap music.
“The Rap shit [is] sounding stupider and stupider, and Country music is sounding more brilliant,” Scarface said at the time. “Rock music is sounding more brilliant and Alternative music is sounding way more brilliant. Shit sound good as fuck. Everybody [in Hip Hop] wants to turn up now, even in R&B. Who stole the soul? The soul is gone. Twenty-five years ago it was called soul. Thirty years ago it was called soul. Then they turned it into rhythm and blues, R&B. What is it now? Is R&B gone, too?”

Damn!!! Face lost alot of weight
good for him, looking like the way he was in the early 1990’s
Real Boss
bosses pay child support
Fuck this old geezer. Stick to drinking prune juice and rotting in an old folks home. For a year and a half now, this nigga has been bitching and complaining about the state of hip hop instead of doing something about it. I cant stand niggas that are all talk, no action. Either put up or shut up. Glad he’s mapointless ranting, though. What’s he done for this culture besides whine like a fucking baby? The world could use more people like Rick Ross who actually make an effort to make hip hop better. #actionspeaklouder #bawse
What has he done for the culture? Depends on whether you think he’s dropped or been involved directly with 4 classics or 14 classics. Either way, alot.
Scarface is pretending to be a famous criminal. What a fraud.
That’s an odd argument coming from a Rick Ross fan.
whats worse? using a fictional characters nick name or taking a living man’s government named while he was locked up when you used to lock people like him up
Ross didn’t steal anything. Judges ruled that already. Rick ross came from him being compared to rick james and a misprouncation of boss. Ross didn’t use freeway or anything like that.
Rick Ross was merely a correctional officer, a job that he has no shame in performing, and only borrowed the real Ross’ name because he respected his hustle. Scarface is merely a 7th grade dropout who exaggerates his drug dealing lifestyle when in reality he’s nothing more than a lowly dimebag pusher. And I am Ross’ personal assistant.
” a job that he has no shame in performing”
he was definitely ashamed and embarrassed when he was lying and denying it. accusing haters of photoshopping his picture, calling trick daddy a snitch and having dj vlad beat up for exposing his fake azz.
Scarface has written and performed over 20 albums over twenty + years. He’s 44 years old – he doesn’t claim to be drug dealer.
O wait, what a surprise, another weird & lonely , white troll.
Scarface stole his name from the movie Scarface! With other words he is a fraud.
taking a fictional movie characters name is a lot different than taking a living gangsters government name while hes locked up without his permission, especially when you’re a fuggin cop.
And Qtip took his name from Qtips, what’s your point? Method Man (Johnny Blaze)Redman (Soopaman Luva)
1st anon is a white dweeb . Pay him no mind
Al Pacino verbally lashed out and Scarface apologized.
Didn’t this nigga retire? Oh, I see, he’s pulling a Jay Z. Too bad both his album and book will flop.
Your life is a flop.
Best MC to ever come out of the South, too bad he switched up his flow and been sounding like he’s short of breath ever since that Diary album
Scarface has written and performed over 20 albums over twenty + years. He’s 44 years old – he doesn’t claim to be drug dealer.”
Yet none of them hit no.1 while Ross had 5. Even his sole no.2 album charted higher than scarface’s highest charting album.
charts don’t always define good music!!!!!
and yet scarface has sold over 10 million albums in his career, how many has Rick Ross sold?
Ross will never come close to being a real mc like Mr.Jordan, fuck boy.TEXAS MADE.
bullshit!!!! Scarface’s ‘The Untouchable’ album was #1 album
Scarface actually (*50 Cent voice) went no. 1 with the Untouchable album back in 1997.
Shitface only went gold 3 times compared to ross’ s 5
^Fuck off troll cunt ^
Why do yal insist on feeding the troll?
“Shitface only went gold 3 times compared to ross’ s 5”
And went platinum 3 times compared to ross’ zero
legend hands down.
Scarface should announce plans for a diet.
Um, did you not see that picture? Dude lost mad weight.
anyone bad mouthing facemob
doesn’t know real HIP HOP
Charted Albums? Ross has never went platinum. Face has three platinum albums plus almost all are classics. Compare them are felonious, SCARFACE IS A LEGEND AND STILL TO THIS DAY, the realest rapper in the GAME period. There is no rapper more respected.
yup, thats why ross put him on his album
Scarface is a has been with zero ability to sell now. You know that, sport. Don’t be difficult.
He won’t sell like he used to, but plenty of people, myself included, will buy his music. People who like Scarface will buy an album without hearing a single record, and most don’t visit websites like this. If you had heard “The Fix,” you’d understand.
Word. Face’s albums range from dope to classic (He has multi classics). I’ve been following hip-hop before it was classified as hip-hop and Face is one of the best ever. This man is a legendary genius. I consider him the most complete rapper to ever do it. Copping his music is a no brainer. His fans will come up in solid number because he has the south on smash and major respect throughout the country.
hope he features Jay Electronica
Ross biggest reason for FLOPPING is same concept and getting a OVERRATED has been to Executive produce his album(Buffy Combs)…
FINALLY
Listen to Scarface’s “The Fix” album guarantee you’ll love it. It’s BEYOND classic.
YEP!! The Fix is a classic! I’ve been listening to that the last 2 days!
I can’t believe people are even discussing his importance right now…
The Diary & The Fix > ANY other 2 album combo from ANY other hip hop artist. EVER.
At least tell us why you feel we shouldn’t be discussing his importance. Lol Nobody cares about being important. Fans these days don’t even talk about music. They worry about who’s more popular and have money.
This man has multiple classics. He’s arguably the most complete rapper in the history of the genre.
Respect to the O.G… To the trolls an haters on here grow old an die thanks…Peace on the Internets
I hope he samples AZ’s The Format
somethin to look forward to finally. now if mitchy slick would drop “lost in tha yay”
hands down the greatest rapper of all time.
Co-sign 100%
The Fix is not a classic, and it received generally mixed to positive reviews.
So did illmatic
Can’t wait. I still listen to MADE or The Diary every now and then, Face still a legend, also i may be the only one but i loved My Homies
Whaaat?!? My Homies was fuckin fresh. DMG went hard on that shit “St Paul and MPLS I hear ya callin”
Who? Nigga been mad irrelevant for the longest time.
It’s people like you who have ruined hip hop.
Legend period. Too bad he works with officer Ricky on this album wtf face!
Ross’ verse is forgettable anyway, just like when he was on Nas’ last album. He didn’t add anything to the track.
The Tru King Of South iz back
Should we take Scarface serious? Doing songs with fraud Rick Ross, dissing J Prince and then saying the words were taken out of context, begging for money to record a Geto Boys album??????
Who the fuck cares? Good music is good music. Fuck the other bullshit.
