RZA Reportedly Hopes To Finish Wu-Tang Clan Album In 45 Days

During a recent interview with the Associated Press (AP), RZA spoke about Wu-Tang Clan’s upcoming album, explaining the differences between recording now and recording as younger men.

“When you’re a young man, you’re hustling and you’ve got 12 hours a day to dedicate to music,” RZA says in the interview. “It might be more than that. The energy that’s important is constantly pouring out. But when you’ve got to go seek for the energy, it becomes a little more difficult. Wu-Tang is forever. I’ll never take back that statement. But we haven’t recorded a lot of studio albums. This is the first album we’ve recorded in seven years, actually. And we can’t wait seven years for another album.”

The AP interviewer also writes that RZA “hopes to have [the new Wu-Tang Clan album] completed in 45 days or so after sending it to a few outside producers for final touches.”

As previously reported, RZA says that Raekwon is a missing member on the new project. According to RZA, Raekwon has not contributed verses for the new album, which is reportedly titled A Better Tomorrow.

During the interview, RZA says he wouldn’t be the only person in charge of deciding whether to release a Wu album without Raekwon’s participation.

“That’s something that I would take a vote on with the rest of the crew,” RZA says. “I’m not a dictator about that. Raekwon is a valuable energy to the Wu-Tang, his voice, his lyrics, his approach. Rae is a master lyricist.”

Earlier this month (November), RZA spoke about Raekwon’s absence from this project.

“One of the guys who showed up the most was Method Man,” RZA said in an interview with Grantland. “He showed the most tenacity, he was the most vocal, he showed up the most, and he got the most lyrics on the new album. He’s already recorded eight or nine songs. He’s been on it. You know, I give Cappadonna credit, he’s been really on it. U-God has been present. Masta Killa be representing. Inspectah Deck has been somewhat present. Ghost has been, you know, 20 percent present. And Raekwon hasn’t shown up at all. When you look at somebody like Masta Killa and U-God, they seem to have that original hunger to complete the legacy. I respect that everybody [is] busy with they own lives. I started with a plan that I thought would work. Now maybe my plan not working.”

Following the interview’s release, Raekwon addressed the situation via Twitter.

      1. you want me to get over getting $100 stolen from me by RZA and his label? LOL not happening!!!

only need 10 more likes to reach 400 on the BOYCOTT SOUL TEMPLE MUSIC facebook page!

      2. if it was a product you purchased over the internet, you had to purchase it with some sort of credit card. If you never received said product, you are able to dispute the charges with your credit card company or bank and get a full refund. Are you a f’n teenager that doesn’t know how card disputes work, but can figure out how to create a facebook page? F’n dummy.

Issues happen with distribution channels all the time. Rza isn’t packing boxes of cd’s up at his house, so your lame ass reasoning to boycott Wu-Tang is childish. If you, the consumer, are too dumb to dispute the charges when a distribution channel fails, it’s your own f’n fault for not reporting it to your bank.

      3. ^^The most sensible comment anywhere, ever. I particularly liked the part about RZA not packing boxes of CD’s.LMAO

      4. Dear Wu Fans and Consumers,

First, let us apologize for not staying in tune with everyone and keeping you all abreast of the situation, it was deeper than we expected. Secondly, we have begun refunding those that have asked to be refunded to their PayPal accounts for unsent product. Thirdly, Soul Temple is under organizational restructuring and a new staff has been working to get all this mess sorted out.

It has come to our attention within all of this sorting, that the Bobby Perry situation is deeper than fans not getting orders, we are dealing with legal issues that encompasses embezzling funds from Soul Temple, artist not getting paid their advancement fees, employees not being paid, and a host of other issues that has befallen the running of Soul Temple.

RZA personally is covering many expenses to rectify this situation at hand and it is taking much longer than expected because of all the outstanding debt due to how Bob ran the company, There was an agreement with an outside shipping company located in Pennsylvania that is to ship out all ordered product. There should have been no issue on the side of Soul Temple or you, the purchaser, you paid in advance for your shipping to arrive as stated.

Unfortunately he has not paid this shipping company thousands of dollars, and product that has been ordered by you all is sitting in a warehouse. The information to the warehouse location and name wasnt given to us until yesterday when Bob Perry finally released the information. At an out of pocket cost to RZA he is working to pay this bill high cost, to fulfill his WORD and get the product that has been sitting paid and shipped out to everyone that has been gracious enough to wait instead of asking for the refund.

Bob Perry, refusal to be helpful in rectifying many issues has been as stagnate as it was with him responding your complaints before this point. Our request, for necessary information, after promises of providing it on numerous occasions, was causing the slow-down in many areas in sorting the Soul Temple problems which includes product that is sitting.

The new team is truly determined in sorting this out, and it has been a slow process. For those of you who still havent gotten your product if you now wish for a refund or if you havent received your refund please notify Band Camp. If you still wish to have your product now that we have located where it is being held, please inform Band Camp of the purchase and product. If you have ordered shirts, or specialty items, we might not be able to fulfill those particular orders since they were set up Bob Perry, and we are not sure if they are at the ware house as well, or being shipped from another location. If we are unable to ship those items we will refund.

Once again, we do apologize for the un-professionalism of Soul Temple and thanks again all for your unwilling patience in this matter as we finish sorting it all.

nah fuck that. i went through my bank and got my money back but why should my bank or credit card company be out money cause soul temple fucked up? how is it okay to steal from thousands of people?

I want what i paid 6 months ago for or my money back from soul temple music, not from my bank or credit card company. just cause RZA is in business with snakes that shouldnt give him a pass to steal out money and force us to get it back through card disputes.

they’ve had 7 fucking months to give us a refund but dont respond to emails.

      6. Ass wipe the e-mail just explain everything that happen. Stop your bloodclot crying. Your sound like a lil kid. Your getting annoying with this shit on every Wu article. I’m gonna personally start a FB page saying Fuck you if you don’t stop this shit now. Its ruining it for everyone….

    1. It seems like the only way for their kind to make a legitimate income is to learn to play basketball, football, or rap. Rapping is seemingly a copout for these people since they let anyone get on the microphone nowadays, even a brain dead test tube baby. If they won’t apply for food stamps like they’re supposed to, then they take the easy way out. Instead of working a regular 9-to-5 job or attending college & earning a degree, these lazy & shiftless people grab a pen & paper and spit garbage over clich, hard-knocking beats. I bet you all didn’t know that rap was invented by a white man by the name of Mel Gibson. That’s right, the actor. One day, as he was perfecting his craft in high school, a gang of blacks cornered him in an alley & jumped him. One of those suspects by the name of Kool Herc, took his rhyme book & used it to create the global phenomenon that is known as hip hop. So you see, Lord Jamar, white people aren’t the guests in hip hop – black people are. Or rather, they’re the crooks who stole hip hop & made it into a pipe dream where everyone can pick up a pen & bust out a rhyme.

      1. Hey all jokes aside, I love all my brothers and sisters. My best friends & neighbors are black. But most of them are your atypical lazy, shiftless bastards that can’t hold a job & decide to rap for a living. And the fact of the matter is, they’re absolutely terrible. I try to tell them that they should earn their GED & find real work instead of chasing a dream that will never happen. They’ll be living on their mother’s couches for the rest of their natural born lives. It’s pathetic the way they try to leech off their parents & ask for support so they can start their “careers” in rap.

      2. Yeah right..I’m black and I can tell by your post that I’m more educated and make more money then your lazy arse 🙂

      3. Leeching off of the government & collecting food stamps as well as temporary assistance does not mean you make more money than I do.

      4. FACT-more white women are on food stamps than every other race combined

FACT-America was built off of slave & immigrant labor and war support, the so-called “lazy & shitless”

FACT-“My best friends & neighbors are black” is what whites say to receive sympathy for their covert racism

FACT-you look like a jackass comparing your little “friends” to a whole race

You living around these so-called lazy people says more about YOU than them. You the only one in a happy half a million dollar home with hope in that square mile radius saying “I got Black friends” but talking sh*t about your “friends” because of their skin color online? Do they know you’re copying and pasting this and commenting about them?

Machine Gun Kelly, Action Bronson, Yelawolf, Mac Miller, aren’t whites who wanna rap instead of getting another job? OMG, what about the great Eminem? He can’t get a venture capital gig or Universal Records executive job since he’s white and now rich, he has to rap?

You don’t even know how stupid you look boy.

      5. FACT: white women are on food stamps because their bum ass black boyfriends encourage & enable them to stay obese.

FACT: the white man gave the black man a home & a place to live(not to mention dr dre headphones & KFC), hence the term african american. you ungrateful slobs spat in our faces by protesting & marching, that’s why we sprayed you with hoses: to keep you people in line. Nothing personal, we love our african brothers, but not if they’re running amok.

FACT: I am in no way, shape, or form a racist. I love people of all genders, creeds, religions & races. I believe in a world where racial harmony exists and we can all live in peace.

FACT: Aside from race, they’re people that I truly care about, but their decision making skills could use some tweaking. I have friends who are Latino & Caucasian like myself who want to be bum rappers and make something for nothing. If you had considered the fact that maybe I have friends other than blacks, then maybe you wouldn’t have jumped the gun & brought about such false accusations.

      1. so you didn’t check for the Forever album?

It was way different than 36 Chambers, and arguably better (mainly because there were 3x as many songs, and nearly all of them flawless).

    2. what Kenneth answered I cant believe that someone able to profit $8285 in one month on the computer. have a peek at this website………www.jobs39.com

      1. Go read the Wu Manual and check out what they have really been rapping about the whole time they’ve been putting out music. Maybe they just rap too intelligently for your dumb ass.

    3. Yes the can make a Wu album without Rae. No one member makes the group. IMO as long as it’s Meth, Ghost, Gza, and Rza all the other members are just extra icing on the cake.

    4. Obviously Wu-Tang is not, and will never be again, the force that it once was within Hip-Hop. That considered, it is baffling that RZA was actually able to ochestrate their rise within that culture. The fact that they ever were that powerful of a group is incredible.

Nothing but respect to RZA and the rest of Wu-Tang. While their next album may not be a classic, it will surely be well above the average Hip-Hop album.

    5. And what was the last decent verse fat fuck Raekwon had anyway? Bum is mush mouthed garbage now recycling himself more than a Chinee bottle collector.

      1. Dam all that though? Ever hear Shaolin vs Wu-Tang or OB4CL 2. Rae is a beast even though he does recycle sometimes ha ha

      1. people still waiting for man with the iron fists pre-orders from a year ago!!!!

Like BOYCOTT SOUL TEMPLE MUSIC on Facebook

    6. … and Raekwon going to show up 2 days before you have to turn in the album, then kill every single track you put in front of him in that long afternoon. Mark my words, despite the new Wu album will be mediocre as fuck, Raekwon is going to deliver.

      1. Meth has layed down the most verses. Thats all we really need. Rae has been dropping mad music of late it’s other members like Gza that I’m hoping make it on here since I didn’t hear his name mentioned yet

    7. Have any reasons been given why Raekwon hasn’t wanted to get on the album? All i’ve seen is that he’s not there but nobody has said why?

      1. Not even that since Rza said he was going to get more into the older Wu sound. There has been speculation that the financial terms aren’t to Raekwon liking but as I said it’s just speculation

    8. I LOOK FORWARD TO ILLEGALLY DOWNLOADING THIS SHIT AND GIVING BOOTLEGS OUT TO ALL MY FRIENDS!!!

FUCK SOUL TEMPLE MUSIC FOR RIPPIN OFF THEIR DIE HARD FANS TRYING TO SUPPORT THAT REAL HIPHOP SHIT!!!

      1. Yer I ordered off soul temple cause I liked the idea of band camp and thought I was supporting wu more directly, tried a number of times to contact them when nothing arrived and got no response. Was going to disclaim wu tang all together after being a fan for decades.

Just got a response 6 months later saying bob perry was embezzling the cash and not paying the shipping company so the stocks still sat in a warehouse.

Have been promised that Rza is gonna pay ” out of his own pocket” for the deliveries to go ahead.
I get that Bob Perry is to blame for trying to get rich off my and soul temples money but 6 months to pick up that this was happening and to respond screams of a badly managed business venture plus damages alternative musician purchasing structures like band camp.

Rza , I counting on getting my records and willing to wait if you keep me updated but if I don’t I’m cutting the whole Wu off forever, records, headphones, merch, and my loyalty since the start……and I’ve been a big Stan, I mean fan

      2. I’m gonna pile all my wu vinyl, cassettes, CDs limited edition releases, 2 pairs of chambers, iron fist merch and pour gasoline on it and burn it all and post on YouTube . It’ll be one expensive cut my nose off to spite my face exercise but not getting my vinyl from soul temple and Bob Perry getting my $ 60 Australian to flitter away some how seems worse, I hate getting ripped off

      3. P.S , that excludes all the ol dirty stuff, seeing as he’s not around to correct the situation. Now it’s Bob Perry screaming ” baby I got yo money”

      4. i wonder why i never got that response. they are totally blowin it over there they should have records of who bought shit

    9. before I looked at the receipt ov $9951, I didnt believe that my friends brother woz like they say really bringing home money in their spare time from there computar.. there friends cousin started doing this for only about twentey months and just now paid for the morgage on their apartment and got themselves a Mercedes-Benz S-class. read more… http://www.Fb39.com

When he said he shed a tear for Jay-Z I scheme he was just be sarcastic. This guy has way more substance than most of the so called rappers out there today

    10. They need to take 6 months off from everything else and just make music nothing but music for that time. That is the only way we would ever get something close to 36 Chambers or Forever.

    11. Come on man! I get that theyre (he’s) trying to make a WU album but there can be NO Wu album without Dirty. Thats like GangStarr doing another album with DJ Premier & Big Shug as Gangstarr, or Cypress Hill with Son Doobie, Sen Dog & Alchemist. Yeah i get that theyre trying to make money but please dont release it if its garbage… oh and please use samples, none of that live instrument shit! WU’s sound was formed on dirty samples…..USE THEM!!!

    12. This is bullshit, seem like petty squabbles to me why can’t Rae just jump on for the sake of the fans and the name wu tang, there all brothers and need to remember the unity they had back in the day, shit is stupid it just makes wu look bad. I hope the record bangs tho cos even now there’s no reason they can’t put out a classic with the talent within

    13. RZA needs to get Chingy to drop a few verses on this shit, and I guarantee the album will go platinum after that. Chingy makes any album go platinum. #FullDekk

      1. I heard this rumour too that Rza was considering replacing Raekwon with Chingy for the album, I don’t buy it, don’t think it will happen but Chingy has refused to confirm or deny so that just keeps the rumour mill going. TMZ I think we’re the first to break the story with reports of Chingy and other members of Wu Tang seen entering and exiting the studio, later spotted Chingy and Method Man sharing a cafe latte.

    14. Rza hopes to complete the album in 45 days yet I’m still waiting after 6 months for my Soul Temple vinyl delivery after Bob(Baby I got yo Money)Perry stole my hard earned money. Let’s see which Rza manages to complete first, the album or addressing the Soul Temple fiasco, I can’t see why it’s not as easy as paying the shipping company to send my vinyl, I already paid and did my part

    15. Wu album without Raekwon ?! fuck that i wouldn’t buy that,, RZA fix that shit..give him his money or whatever this is about.

    16. Rae making the Wu look weak with this bullshit. Jump on it midget, you owe it to the brothers and especially the fans! You’re not the group superstar, stick to the plan and stay in line.

      1. Plus Kendrick has the nasally voice, just like Chingy. He’s the father of Kendrick’s whole style. Y’all better thank Chingy. #FullDekk

    17. Chingy actually discovered Wu Tang outside a home depot where they were all looking for day work. He listened to their freestyles and decided they should record an album. When they went platinum, Chingy got paid.

      1. Shut the fuck up you faggot dicksucker! RZA ALREADY ADDRESSED THAT SITUATION!! Somebody employed there was fuckin up, and he FIXED IT! You fuckin cocksucka!

      2. he aint fixed shit yet LOL

bunch of empty promises made 2 months ago i still aint got my money back or my product.

ive sent them my receipts like 3 times and they dont ever reply then a month later they ask for all our info again and swear they are going to deal with it LOL

sorry but we been hearing this shit since july and nothing happened

tap that Like button on BOYCOTT SOUL TEMPLE MUSIC on Facebook ya dig?

    18. No mention of GZA?

it ain’t Wu without GZA, and i hope they feature Killah Priest in there or else ain’t interested
