Royce Da 5’9 and Eminem go back over 20 years. After meeting at a Detroit concert in 1997, they ultimately formed the celebrated rap duo Bad Meets Evil and have been thick as thieves ever since. So it comes as no surprise Nickle Nine is defending Slim Shady following the disparaging comments Lil Pump hurled his way on Christmas Eve.
On Thursday (December 24), Royce issued a statement of his own via Instagram warning Pump to watch his mouth.
“I’ll slap them glasses so far off his face, they’ll land in a whole nother genre,” he wrote. “Not cuz I’m mad but just cuz I’m exhausted with all the tuff talk from all these harmless creatures … enjoy yourself. You actually make money off blatant misappropriation while not really being good at anything.”
Eminem, who dropped Music To Be Murdered By: Side B on December 17, was minding his own business when Pump reached in his bag of desperation and dissed the diamond-selling MC in an Instagram video.
“Hey fuck Eminem, you is lame as hell,” he said with a smirk. “Ain’t nobody listening to your old ass. You lame as fuck, bitch. I woke up on some bullshit. I’m back on my fuck shit.”
Several commenters were quick to point out Eminem has way more fans than Lil Pump has or will ever have. For example, Pump has 16.9 million Instagram followers compared to Eminem’s 31.2 million. Granted, that’s still a helluva number but nearly half of Shady’s count. Meanwhile, Pump has 1.1. million Twitter followers, 21.7 million less than Em.

Eminem did take a swipe at Pump on the 2018 Kamikaze track “The Ringer,” mocking Pump’s “Gucci Gang” flow and trashing the mumble rap genre with which Pump is largely affiliated.
Pump’s assertion “nobody” listens to Shady is in stark contract to Eminem’s album sales. The Detroit-bred “rap god” has released 11 studio albums over the course of his storied career, resulting in over 100 million copies sold.
