GloRilla and Rod Wave both released their latest projects on the same day, which was something Big Glo had some feelings about — and she may have had a reason, since Rod appears to have more than doubled her sales.

According to Hits Daily Double, Rod Wave’s Last Lap is projected to move 130,000 sales equivalent units in its first week, while Glo’s Glorious is expected to do less than half of that number, with 60,000.

His performance, according to Hits Daily Double, would put Rod at number 2 on the Billboard 200album chart, behind Jellyroll’s Beautifully Broken. However, Billboarditself in an article published on Wednesday (October 16), said that the race was so far too close to call, and that Charli XCX’s Brat may end up in the top slot instead of either Wave or Jellyroll, because of her project’s newly released remix edition Brat and it’s completely different but also still brat.

GloRilla and Rod Wave’s release date issues began on September 26 when Rod announced on Instagram that Last Lap would arrive on October 11, which was the same day that Glo’s debut LP Glorious was scheduled to land on streaming services.

The Memphis rapper was none too pleased about the clash and commented on his post: “WHY DF WOULD YOU DROP ON MY DAY I’M FINNA TWEAK OUT.”

Rod then appeared to confirm that he was not moving his release date, writing on his Instagram Stories: “La twin drop same night” alongside a photo of him and Glo in the studio together.
