Roc Marciano & The Alchemist Announce New Album ‘The Skeleton Key’

Roc Marciano and The Alchemist have announced that they are joining forces for a new joint album titled The Skeleton Key.

The duo previously collaborated on the The Elephant Man’s Bones back in 2022, as well as numerous tracks.

On Wednesday (December 5), Marci revealed that he and the legendary producer have a second full-length project on the way and it will be dropping very soon.

On Instagram, the Long Island lyricist unveiled a poster announcing the LP and an accompanying listening experience, which is set to take place on Saturday (December 7) at Art Basel in Miami, Florida.

“Miami for art Basel on the 7th pull up and vibe with us, I will be in the building with my @artthatkills family. Music by myself and @alanthechemist and visual stimulation by @josuethomas,” he wrote in the caption.

It’s unclear when The Skeleton Key will be available to buy or stream but the poster lists “2024” next to the album’s title, indicating it will arrive before the end of the year.

The Skeleton Key will serve as Roc Marciano’s second album of 2024 following Marciology , which arrived back in March and earned a 4 out 5 score from HipHopDX.

The project was also well received by Marci’s longtime collaborator Busta Rhymes, who wrote on Instagram: “THE FATHER OF THIS SOUND THAT GAVE BIRTH TO SO MANY OF YOU IS BACK!!!

“JUST A FRIENDLY REMINDER @rocmarci WAS GETTING PLATINUM PLAQUES WITH ME SINCE 1999 WHEN HE COLLABORATED WITH MYSELF, @raekwon @realghostfacekillah PROD. BY @xplargepro CALLED #THEHEIST ON THE #ANARCHY ALBUM 25YRS AGO!!!”

He added: “KNOW YOUR FUCKIN’ HISTORY AND DO YOUR FUCKIN’ RESEARCH!! NO RON DESANTIS SHIT OVER HERE!! BRAND NEW @rocmarci ALBUM #MARCIOLOGY LIVE AND STREAMING EVERYWHERE RIGHT NOW!!! RUN IT UP!! FUCK YOU MEAN!!!”

Meanwhile, The Alchemist has enjoyed another prolific year, dropping the solo album The Genuine Articulate and a joint project with Hit-Boy and his father Big Hit.

The veteran beatmaker has also picked up credits on J. Cole‘s Might Delete Later, Big Sean‘s Better Me Than You, ScHoolboy Q‘s Blue Lips and Benny The Butcher‘s Everybody Can’t Go, while also producing Kendrick Lamar‘s surgical Drake diss song “Meet the Grahams.”

    1. Both of them are highly overrated trashcans. Al is the worst producer in the industry next to Em and Rick Rubin.

    2. I can’t understand for the life of me why Roc Marci has any career at all. His beats (which he usually produces himself) sound so muddy and you can barely hear parts of them and his rapping is mediocre and also never mixed very well. It’s like he doesn’t have an ear for music at all or just doesn’t know how to mix a record.

Obviously the Alc shit sounds better than that but Marci’s whole catalog is mostly his own production and it’s garbage.

      1. It’s cold weather music my guy, you don’t get it. Furthermore, it’s NY style slick-word play, and clever references that are likely over your head. This is an educated rapper with style.
