Rihanna joins the growing list of artists expanding their entrepreneurial ventures by launching her own clothing line.
Def Jam’s platinum girl said earlier this year that she was interested in the prospect, indicating “There might be a clothing line on the horizon, maybe underwear.“
The singer, who is often a guest at runway shows, confirmed her previous statement to fashion publication WWD, saying “I can’t say when it will be released, but it’s definitely going to
happen. I’m not one to rush into anything. I want to take my time.“
This new venture isn’t completely foreign territory for Rihanna. The star capitalized off of the success of her hit single, “Umbrella,” [click to read] by releasing a line of umbrellas earlier this year. Also, she teamed up with retailer H&M to design casual wear as part of the “Fashion Against AIDS” campaign.
Although there is no timetable for the launch of the line, it will feature Rihanna’s designs.
