Rick Ross wants a second go-around in the Verzuz ring after facing off with 2 Chainz in 2020 as he’s looking to spar with T.I. in a battle of the south.

Swizz Beatz hopped on Instagram Live with Verzuz co-founder Timbaland on Friday (May 12) where he teased a possible battle between Rozay and Tip in the upcoming season.

“Rick Ross said he wanted T.I. Rick Ross and Tip the battle of the south. Crown of the south. King of the south. That’s a Za. T.I. talk to me. Ross, you could fly your plane to the party,” Swizz said.

Timbo seemed to nod along in approval of the idea as well.

The MMG boss previously called out T.I. in 2020 looking for another battle opponent.

“Check this out… Tip got unfinished business,” Ross said. “Rozay got unfinished business. And after this event, mhmm. It’s time for us to weigh the work. We gotta weigh the work.”

While speaking on his podcast, even Joe Budden called for a Rozay and T.I. matchup in late 2022.

“I’m down for the person that we’ve seen already that won — ‘Alright, next battle!’” Budden said before proposing: “Rick Ross versus T.I.”

One of Budden’s co-hosts pointed out that Tip has yet to grace the Verzuz stage, to which Budden replied: “But Rick Ross did, and Ross got more than 40 records that he can play with. So now I’m back with a different 20. ‘John’ in front of T.I. looks different than ‘John’ in front of 2 Chainz.”

He continued: “I don’t think Ross will have time for the strippers to come out against T.I. It won’t be time for massages, speeches — that’s T.I. There’s a few people that won that need to come back and do it again.”

T.I. has never taken the Verzuz stage and had his sights set on battling 50 Cent in 2021, but that never came to fruition.

“Hey 50,” Tip said at the BMF premiere. “We got to do this Verzuz, man. Give them what the people want to see, man!”

Swizz relayed in February that fans can expect a loaded Season 3 lineup coming to Verzuz later this year.
