Rick Ross has slammed Florida A&M University for suspending its football team, saying the team shouldn’t be punished just because Real Boston Richey filmed a music video in their locker room.

The Freebandz signee dropped his music video for “Send a Blitz” on YouTube on Friday (July 21), and the video was shot in the football team locker room of Florida A&M University. In the clip, Richey can be seen donning an orange A&M shirt and rocking an official A&M helmet as he raps, all while the team’s football players are clearly visible in the background.

The university commented on Real Boston Richey’s Instagram post promoting his video, condemning the release.

“This is an unauthorized music video shot on our campus and we are conducting an immediate investigation to determine how it happened,” they wrote. “This video does not represent our core values, nor our commitment to ‘Excellence with Caring’ in all aspects of the University, including athletics.”

USA Todaythen reported the school had since suspended its football program, pending the outcome of an investigation as to how the shoot was allowed to happen in the first place.

Rick Ross took to Instagram to share his thoughts on the suspension and said kids shouldn’t be blamed for Real Boston Richey’s actions.

“All I wanna know is if I just came in from running sprints and I’m god damn taking my cleats off and I look up and I see a video being shot and a camera man and everybody else, what the fuck you expect me to do?” Rozay asked. “Stop the video? Tackle the cameraman? Tackle the fucking production engineer? How do I know who has a permit and who doesn’t? That’s between the authorities with the school. I can’t stop no god damn video. I got bench presses to do, squats.”

Following the controversial suspension, Coach Willie Simmons shared an official statement on Twitter.

“Earlier today, it was brought to my attention that a rap video was shot by a prominent rapper in the football locker room of Galimore-Power Fieldhouse without proper authorization,” Coach Willie Simmons wrote. “The video contained graphic language that is not consistent with Florida A&M’s core values, principles, and beliefs, and an internal investigation is underway to determine who authorized the use of not only the athletic facility at Galimore-Powell but also licensed apparel that potentially violates university branding and licensing agreements.”

He continued: “Although I am a proud proponent of free speech and support all forms of musical expression, this football team (as ambassadors of Florida A&M University) has a responsibility to protect the University’s image. As a result of this unfortunate situation, as head football coach, I am effectively suspending all football-related activities until further notice.

“It is a privilege to wear the Orange and Green, and as a football program, our young men have failed to live up to the standard set before us. They will all learn from this mishap, and we will continue to work hard every day to become the best version of ourselves and continue to make Rattler Nation proud,” he concluded.

Real Boston Richey also made headlines last week for vehemently defending himself after coming under fire for rapping an incestual lyric connected to his cousin during his XXL Freshman Cypher.

Always been a freaky jit, trying to fuck my cousin under the covers,” the “Bullseye 2” artist rapped.
