Rick Ross has set the record straight on a theory that attempts to explain his brewing beef with Drake.
On Wednesday (April 17), a thread titled: “Theory – Why Drake may own a % of Kendrick’s & other artist’s publishing” went viral on X (formerly Twitter) amid the 6 God’s rifts with a number of his rap peers.
The series of posts speculates that Drake owns a portion of his rivals’ publishing thanks to the $400 million deal he signed with Universal Music Group in 2022 and is the reason they have fallen out with him.
It points to Drizzy’s relationship with former Apple Music executive Larry Jackson, whose music company Gamma released Rick Ross and Meek Mill’s joint album Too Good To Be True last year.
The thread also cites recent comments made by Joe Budden, who speculated that Drake owns a percentage of Gamma and would therefore receive income from Rozay and Meek’s project, among the label’s other releases such as French Montana‘s Mac & Cheese 5 (which Drake allegedly refused to clear a verse for).
After catching wind of the viral theory, Rick Ross quickly denied the suggestion by writing: “BIG cap. Minion’s opinions.”
Rozay himself explained his issues with his “Aston Martin Music” collaborator on his diss song “Champagne Moments,” which he released in response to Drake’s shots on “Push Ups (Drop & Give Me 50).”
“I unfollowed you, n-gga, ’cause you sent the motherfuckin’ cease-and-desist to French Montana, n-gga. You sent the police, n-gga, hatin’ on my dog project,” he said in the outro of the track.
“That wasn’t the same white boy that I seen, n-gga, when we were makin’ them early records, n-gga. When you were happy to be around n-ggas, seein’ n-ggas holdin’ them sticks.”
Since the release of their respective diss songs, Ross and Drake’s feud has only escalated with the pair exchanging several blows on social media.
After being taunted by the MMG mogul over Instagram DMs earlier this week, Drizzy hit back with a lengthy message of his own in which he mocked Ross’ Miami Beach mansion and private jet while calling him a “worker” for Brett Berish, the CEO of Belaire, whose products Ross has long promoted.
In response, the Port of Miami rapper ridiculed Drake’s own private jet, which he claimed is unsafe for people to fly on, and accused him of using ghostwriters for his social media retorts.
He also doubled down on previous claims that the Her Loss hitmaker has had plastic surgery and doesn’t write his own lyrics.
“Your nose fake, your stomach fake, you don’t write raps and your biggest homie’s in foreclosure,” he said, referring to his former label boss’ Birdman’s Miami mansion being seized in 2018.

Fuck Drake. He’s Canadian.
You know there is something wrong with the Hip Hop industry when a gay, corny Canadian is the most famous rapper. What happened to real authentic rap like Jay Z, Nas, 50 Cent etc.?
Bring back real good rap like Nas! Fuck that fake Canadian suburban white boy Drake.
Drake doesn’t belong in the rap game and has no credibility. He’s Canadian. Canada contributed nothing to Hip Hop.
Not quite true, there have been some noteable contributions from Canadian artists over the years. Older cats like Saukrates, Kardinal Offishall, Madchild, and Choclair. Newer dudes like K-Os, Shad and K’naan. If you want to hate on Drake or Torey Lanez, that’s on you, but Canada’s contributions to the culture are well documented and can’t be dismissed. If you aren’t familiar with some of the names in this list, do yourself a favor…
Citizen Kane, Ghetto Concept and Don Million. Ahead of their time. Astaghfirullah.
We don’t need Canadians in the rap game. Drake isn’t even popular in Canada because rap music isn’t a thing there. Support American rappers. Don’t letting foreigners invade our country’s genre.
Drake is a foreigner invading a genre us Americans invented. Stop letting these foreigners take over the rap industry. Don’t let Canada take over a genre Americans created. Stop listening to Drake, let him fall off and lose all his money…
Fucking hater , if they were good you wouldn’t have to bring them back.
