Rev. Al Sharpton has announced he’s stepping up to help get Meek Mill released from prison.
The renowned civil rights activist and television personality has revealed his first port of call will be a visit to Meek on Monday (November 27) alongside the rapper’s attorney Joe Tacopina. Meek is currently housed at the State Correctional Institution in Chester, Pennsylvania.
Sharpton recently told TMZ he hopes to get Genece Brinkley – the Philadelphia-based judge who sentenced Meek earlier this month – removed from the case. There have been a number of damning claims about Brinkley put forward by Meek’s legal team, including the accusation she demanded Meek to drop his deal with Roc Nation in favor of her friend.
The publication also reports that Sharpton will try to persuade Pennsylvania authorities that Meek’s two to four-year prison sentence is harsh and unjust, especially considering the two charges that constituted his violation of parole were dismissed and had already been dropped.
Sharpton believes his work to get Tupac Shakur out of solitary confinement during his one-year prison term in 1995 is proof of his ability to help out.
This vulture will jump on anything racial if its got $$$ attatched
Wow this is dinduism at its worst
This ambulance chaser is the worst kind of person. He jumps at the chance to get his name attached to a rapper (millionaire) who violated probation a few times (I wish jail on nobody), but he supported Charter/Spectrum with the current 8month technician strike in NYC. 1800 working class women & men on strike for their pension/benefits and he supports the company that redid his office. Fuck HIM!!
Yes, we need to bring attention to this and add a racial aspect to it, even though the judge who made the decision was a black lady. All Sharpton has done for America is contribute to the programming of black people to believe that every unfortunate event that they suffer through is a direct result of their skin color, which actually hurts everybody because there are actual break downs in the systems that need to be addressed, but not from a racial perspective, and will remain unaddressed because people are trying to fix racial issues that aren’t actually there, the same things happen to poor white people regularly but since people are busy only focusing on the black people who get screwed by the system, whatever the actual breakdown is never gets fixed. He is slowing down the progress of our society by encouraging people to hang onto racial grievances, and is somehow considered a hero by the people who think they are on the side of progress. Who has seen the video from the early 90s where Roy Innis pushed Sharpton on his ass, back when he was like 300 pounds fatter? He deserved it.
Folks keep trying to give Meek Mill a damn pass, why I don’t know? The fool violated his probation, period! Don’t matter if this lady was the judge or someone else, he violated and now he got to own up to it! The system is designed against us, so don’t play games with a system designed to cheat to win anyway! It’s a lose/lose situation, so Meek can’t be surprised he LOST!
