Remy Ma has given fans more reason to believe that she and Papoose are no longer together by returning to using her maiden name.
Following months of rumors that the two had separated, she now appears to be going by Remy Kioni Smith, ditching Pap’s last name of Mackie.
Eagle-eyed fans noticed the name change in the songwriting credits for Remy’s new single with Fat Joe, “Outta Control,” which was released last week.
Her most recent release before that, last year’s “Ghetto & Ratchet (Remix)” with Connie Diamond, listed her name as Remy Mackie in the credits.
Neither Remy Ma nor Papoose have publicly commented on the status of their relationship, but it has been rumored that the former Terror Squad member had an affair with battle rapper Eazy The Block Captain.
Rumors of Remy cheating on Papoose began circulating last summer when it was reported that the “Alphabetical Slaughter” MC confronted Eazy at a Chrome 23 rap battle and knocked him out for getting “too cozy” with his wife.
“I see Papoose, and it was kind of like an aggressive motion, and Papoose swings,” an attendee who claimed to have witnessed the scuffle said. “The next thing I know, Eazy was on the floor, and it was a lot of commotion. And people were running out of the room. Remy came in, and her security came behind her. And then they closed the door and they were arguing.”
They continued: “So this whole ‘it didn’t happen’ is bullshit. He did go night-night. Papoose put Eazy The Block Captain to sleep last night. What it was about, I don’t know, but he was playing Remy very close last night. A little too close for comfort.”
Remy Ma denied the rumors at the time, tweeting: “I’d like to apologize to everyone that was disappointed tonight because we couldn’t get 3 full rounds from all the opponents… I tried…and can y’all pleasee STOP with the Eazy & Pap LIES. There’s NO place like Chrome! Right back at it ; see y’all in August #Chrome23.”
Though she denied the claims, Remy and Eazy have since been seen together on numerous occasions, including at a Philadelphia Eagles game and what appeared to be a more intimate date.
Remy and Papoose were seen together in March at the latter’s 46th birthday party, but they did not appear to be on the friendliest of terms as many fans commented on Remy’s frosty body language.

She fueled it by changing the name, the media didn’t do dat neither did the name changed itself.. she tryna send the world a message by omitting the last name, trying to clear every little relation there is.. Just Damn..
What I mean is, don’t you change your name if you so want, when/if you get divorced? I know some don’t, due to financial reasons, but if you can and want to, can you? That’s what i’m saying…

In a world full of people you can’t trust & have to protect yourself from when you are lucky enough to have a loyal partner like Papoose by your side who stayed true & held you down when you were at your worst is beyond betrayal and makes you a person who never deserved that man in the first place. He sacrificed 15 plus years in hopes she was the woman she claimed to be. So I hope he has good support right now to lean on in his life, not just the “Hollywood” friends, because he will need it.
