Rare Early 1990s O.C. Recordings Come To CD Release

Diggin’ In The Crates (D.I.T.C.) emcee O.C. released two critically-acclaimed albums in 1994 debut Word…Life and 1997’s Jewelz, after feature appearances with Organized Konfusion. The Brooklyn, New York native’s recordings from that period which never made either project surfaced several years ago, courtesy of a No Sleep Recordings vinyl release.

Now, O-Zone Originals: 1993-1996 is coming to CD, available exclusively at UGHH.com as of September 20. The No Sleep project features production from early mentor Buckwild, as well as Da Beatminerz, T-Ray and DJ Eclipse. In addition to the demo recordings, O.C. freestyles, radio promos, remixes and alternative versions of songs are included.

In 2009, O.C. partnered with fellow D.I.T.C. emcee A.G. to release Oasis.

    1. THANK YOU!!! EASILY ONE OF MY TOP 10 EMCEES.

DITC FOREVER, RIP BIG L, PUN AND PARTY

    2. awww fuck yea!!!! gotta get this release! i love Word…Life and Jewelz, with Word…Life being my most favorite album of all time! i actually own two copies of that CD: the original disc with a different “Ga Head” produced by Lord Finesse and a reissue with 4 bonus tracks. i cant wait to add this album into my collection 😀

    3. Man I damn near did a back flip when I saw the initials “O.C” on this post & on this site for that matter. It reminded me of the caliber of REAL hip hop music I came up on. When Word…..Life dropped that was all you heard bumping around all the Howard campus’ back in the day…..Classic.

    4. YEAH, Word…Life is one of the best albums ever, so much awareness and nice lyricism, unbelievable how underrated it is, O.C. is such a talented MC, his poetry is pure beauty. My World is one of the best tracks ever, too.
