The battle for the “Year End Rap” concept continues.
The dispute between Mad Skillz (Skillz for short) and Uncle Murda a.k.a. Lenny Grant has boiled over from stray lines and social media barbs into the trading of diss records.
Uncle Murda has officially responded to Skillz’s scathing “Murda Gram” with a diss track of his own titled “Why You Mad?” The G-Unit artist claps back at Skillz while remaining unrepentant about jacking the concept of the annual “Year End Rap” songs.
“He mad I got the ‘Rap Up’ lit again/ Next year I’m taking your shit again/ I know you feeling like ya chain got snatched/ And I remind you every year that you can’t get it back/ You taking shots is like Shaq shooting free throws/ I’d rather be out here beefing with the Migos/I took your shit, I’m a keep on taking it/ I don’t give a fuck if you the one who created it,” Murda raps.
Later on, Murda takes aim at Skillz’s career after claiming no one in Skillz’s home state of Virginia cares about him like The Clipse or Pharrell.
“You tried to Takeover like JAY, but you got Ether’d/ I came up hard, I’m a product of a Biggie/ You ain’t come up like that, you a product of Missy/ I was playing chess with you, nigga, not checkers/ I asked around, nobody know the name of the none of ya records/ Your career never got off the shelf/ You that ghostwriter that couldn’t write a hit for yourself/ Honestly, nobody know who you wrote for/ I just took the only thing that you was known for,” Murda raps.
The Brooklyn MC caps off the diss by boasting about the success he’s experienced since joining G-Unit, which is his way of refuting Skillz’s line about signing with the label 10 years too late, and calling his rival “washed up.”

Murda is wack AF. Always has been. Always will be.
this is typical NYC bully shit…how u gonna get mad at somebody cause you stole THEIR gimmick? LOL murda is too much, he being extra ignorant this time around
He aint mad, skillz is lol…and nigs get their stuff taken everyday b, he a g right
You co-signing biting b?
y all mad skills got murdered!!
ehhhhh, i wouldnt quite say that. murda’s response is decent, better than I thought it’d be. but skillz’ diss record is way better than murda’s.
Nah…. It was aiight but Murda is more of an ad-lib hype man he can’t fuck with him when it comes to bars….
This Uncle Murder commenting ya’ll. You ain’t slick.
Ha Ha – Another L for NY (Brooklyn) , new home of cultural appropriation. crip/blood gang culture, trap beats, recycled rhyme schemes, and now this clown biting styles…
Unky Murda slaughtered mad skillz, nice.
yea you right lmao dumbass
Uncle Murda saving grace are his adlibs and being the spliff Starr of gunit. Skillz won this round.
Uncle Murda is garbage! Believe garbage! Stinks!
Lenny Grant’s Funeral Home…
Skillz won easily not even close, Skillz got a couple lines thats hotter then Uncle Murda entire song. UM voice is terrible, delivery not good, lines just ok.
Why Nyc rappers come off so bitter, I’ve notice Nyc people never like to see anyone else come up, get rich do they thing, every since 50 came in NY has been fucked since then. Their is no in between with nyc they are either bitter hating cats like 50, yayo, uncle murda, jim jones,wu tang and I’m a fan of wu but they are a bunch of jealous bitter dudes they always been like that, or Nyc will have some cool laid back cats that seem very diplomatic like Nas, Az, fab, fat joe
You sound stupid the Wu never hates on anybody and is universally respected by all. Raekwon was one of the 1st people to put people on to Outkast up top and did you forget Method Man was one of the few East Coast mainstream rappers to be on a song with Pac. So STFU and keep the Wu-Tang outta yo mouf LMAO
Yessssss!!!!! Suuuuuuuuuu! How tf is Wu bitter?
They hated on other groups for no reason, they hated on Bone thugs, because at a club in Nyc around 96, flesh had just sign a solo deal with Def Jam and the club was bumping East 1999 over and certain members in Wu starting getting upset starting acting ignorant thinking Bone was from the West Coast just because the sign to Eazy, Wu tried to make it a East Coast vs west coast thing when Bone was showing love to Ny and getting love back terror squad and junior mafia was rocking heavy with bone certain members and Wu didn’t like that, They tried to press Bone, thinking they had the advantage because they were in NY, not realizing Bone was deep too Mo thugs members, watts crips, pistol pete and his crew, Ruthless Security. There are interviews of a suave house producers talking about this mention he thought cats were just tripping on Bone because women were treating them like Mike Jack. Consequcne talks about this as well, more in detail on a unrealeased interview on some radio show. When it’s that many people in a group certain members are going to have problems with people that others don’t that’s how some groups work that’s why their is always turmoil etc.
Yo New York Come get yall rappers they walking in quick sand
well now that we know your hating because its NY your response is invalid. Don’t worry there are lots of dickheads like you!
Yo y’all bias in here and clearly y’all jus love the underdogs, Murda delivered a solid response I got it even. Uncle Murda actually surprised me. Skills had bars but his delivery was off for most of the song, though he gets points for that throw back beat choice.
Three worst rappers from Brooklyn: Maino, Red Cafe, and Uncle Murda.
EXACTLY!!! I think people get caught up in the mystique of NYC, The legend of Big, Jay Brooklyn etc…But when you really analyze those three they are fucking HORRIBLE and sound like they are trying to revive 2005
murda won in the first 15 seconds
I have to give this round to Mad Skills,Uncle Murder delivery and adlibs was good, but Skill had the bars, not bad for a vet that doesn’t make music on a regular basis!
Murda took days to respond, therefore his response is invalid. Ghost writers and collaborators must’ve been busy. Skillz takes this round on bars, the fact that his diss records didn’t take a week to come out and the fact that Murda is basically a D list rapper who got bodied by a retired rapper. BK should be ashamed.
the time it takes to respond shouldn’t matter. It never did before. otherwise Ether would have been a failure. ‘fans’ are just entitled now and want everything on demand
We can all now agree that uncle murda got servers. Yeah it was a terrible place to be in, knowing that skillz is a better emcee overall. But it’s better that he responded and took the L than chicken out and carry the L either ways.
I respect that. And he didn’t do it the Minaj way by having g unit on the track.
Uncle Murda u a swagger jacker..admit n apologize
I fuck with lyricism over swag… with that said…Murda took this one.
You just contradicted yourself. How is this even possible in logical terms. Lyricism over swag? Skillz is the lyricist. Uncle the poster boy for g unit clothing. Please re-evaluate your life..
Please head to Lenny Grant Me A Wish gofundme page and donate so that he can come up with his own original gimmicks and release an album finally. Extra proceeds will go towards minimizing his Adlibs (it’s all he’s got) and stepping his rap game up. Thank you.
I thought it was even and I’m an underground head and have known of Mad Skillz for at least 10 years before the rap ups even started. Skillz track was dope and had some really great punchlines and his beat choice was perfect, but Murda said some really funny stuff on his. He also threw that line back at Skillz about G-Unit and really just clowned him about why is he even responding..he wanted someone relevant that he dissed on his rap up to diss him back. Also made a good point about how ghostwriting is Skillz claim to fame but nobody knows what songs he wrote…
“ghostwriting is Skillz claim to fame but nobody knows what songs he wrote”… maybe because that was/is the whole point of ghost writing, hence the word “GHOST”.
Murda def got bodied but his track was waaaay better than expected. Actually wasn’t bad. His flow is just terrible. Some funny shit in there tho. It just bugs me out how his two angles are admitting to stealing the idea which is a crime in hip-hop, and then him talking so much about skills not ever getting his career off the ground and being on the shelf LOL his career hasn’t actually gotten off the ground either LMAO signing to G-Unit is not a great accomplishment these days sorry to say and I’m a G-Unit fan. I guess him admitting to biting was a tactic to try to get in front of it since he was so clearly wrong for doing that, don’t know how he got away with it this long, glad it finally came to the forefront and skills Addressed it
I’m a a real NYC Hiphop fan, but I like the good NYC Hiphop. Not just every rapper from NYC. Skillz basically retires Uncle Murda, which is something that I’m glad that happened because he is MC abilities are below average
