Rap Release Dates: T.I., Kid Cudi, Snoop Dogg & Wiz Khalifa

A moment of silence for the possibility of Detox. After 27 years of making music (and torturing us about said music), Dr. Dre will be taking a break. Does that break mean no Detox? Probably. So while we were given songs like “Die Hard” with Eminem, and a whole bunch of other cuts and random demo tracks, it looks like Detox can finally leave the Rap Release Dates conversation. Onward and upward.

A few album releases have been announced with no dates attached. T.I. finally picked an album name, and that name is Trouble Man. The triple threat emcee, actor, and author was toying with a few names and finally settled on that one. He’ll also be dropping some new music this week to celebrate. Wiz Khalifa announced an album called O.N.I.F.C. The follow up to Rolling Papers has no said date, but somewhere in between the Taylor Gang Godfather will drop a mixtape called “Taylor Allderdice.” Last week we mentioned Chris Brown dropping an album Fortune, but no date yet either.

Kid Cudi has an album W Z R D that will arrive on January 30, 2012, and will have no profanity so the radio can enjoy it. Old Dirty Cudi loves the children. In other 2012 news, Rick Ross announced he will not be dropping God Forgives, I Don’t in 2011. Within weeks of expecting the album, Rawse changed his mind and now we’re left with empty hands. That’s fine, though, because he and Drake seem pretty serious about this “Y.O.L.O.” mixtape, so hopefully that will arrive before 2020. Before 2012 starts, let’s rewind and take a look at what the last month and a half of 2011 have in store for us.

Yelawolf brings Radioactive this week (read the review). Wolf has been circulating some songs to the masses, the most recent being “Slumerican Shitizen” with Killer Mike and “Throw It Up” with Gangsta Boo and Eminem. Rihanna also drops Talk That Talk and Mary J. Blige’s My Life II: The Journey Continues. Both R&B vixens grabbed some rappers for their albums. Check out Jay-Z on RiRi’s “Talk That Talk” and the full version of “Feel Inside” with Nas. Surprisingly, Ruff Ryders will be dropping Past Present Future this week per Funkmaster Flex’s site. Where was the promo for that project?

In big December news, Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa have added a date for their movie soundtrack to Mac + Devin Go To High School. The double trouble stoners have a film coming out with music inspired by and wrriten for the film. Gues appearances include Bruno Mars, Curren$y, Juicy J, and Mike Posner. Get your rolling papers ready.

Mark your calendars for some new additions: Kid Sister’s Kiss & Tell EP on November 29th, Kooley High’s David Thompson on December 6th, and Sha Stimuli’s The Calling on January 12th.

One more moment of silence for Detox.
