Rap Release Dates: Kurupt, Styles P, Rapper Big Pooh, Kidz In the Hall

In the music industry, it’s all about the fourth quarter. From September through December, artists hurry to get their music to you by year end in time for the holidays. We watched it happen toward the end of September, as J. Cole dropped Cole World: The Sideline Story, 9th Wonder arrived with The Wonder Years, Evidence had Cats & Dogs, Phonte came with Charity Starts At Home, and the list goes on. For October, tons of artists will be moving their work out, but as always, pushbacks are probable.

This week, though, there’s plenty to be excited for, starting with another Kurupt release. Kurupt played a major role in the release of The Academy (read the review here), and now he presents Penagon Rydaz. Atlanta’s A3C has been slowly creeping up as one of Hip Hop’s favorite festivals. This year, the ATLien live celebration dropped Volume One of their new (hopefully annual) compilation series with tracks from some Rap favorites, including Freddie Gibbs’s “Executive Decision,” 9th Wonder’s “Jamla’s Coming At You,” Saigon’s “I Know Now,” and Rockie Fresh’s “Spotlight.” This week also sees Styles P’s Master Of Ceremonies finally arriving. The Ghost SP just dropped a mixtape with the same name (listen to it here ). However, a radio rip of an album cut “Feelings Gone” circulated, produced by Statik Selektah. In Statik’s world, the hit producer is gearing for his own album Population Control on October 25th. He shares that date with Yelawolf’s Radioactive, 40 Glocc’s (aka Big Bad 40) New World Agenda and many others. One day prior, Drizzy drops Take Care along with Idle Warship’s Habits Of the Heart.

Looking ahead to November, it looks like Mac Miller might take the crown. He’ll be dropping Blue Slide Park on November 8th. Until then, check out his appearance on Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera’s “Moves Like Jagger Remix.” A week before, Rapper Big Pooh’s Dirty Pretty Things drops with Wale’s Ambition. As a new addition to the list, Kidz In Hall will drop Occasion on November 22nd. The Kidz dropped “Pour It Up” recently with Bun B and David Banner. Time to get your Christmas lists ready.

    1. Boy 2 Men on that list, good to see them with another album coming out. The only albums I’m looking forward to shown here are Boyz 2 Men, Kurupt, Styles P, Tyrese, Tech Nine and the TdotO sista Melanie Fiona…. One or two others I’ll check for, but the others are irrelevant…

    2. And in the end there is no mention of Detox..smdh… They were claiming it was coming soon enough, since it’s supposedly in the mixing stage or some other shit.. I guess it is the Detox myth…

      1. Detox is destined for failure, the large majority of people who buy music are teenagers/Young Adults, and alot of them were in Grade school last time Dre dropped, some were in Diapers……. He should dropped summin 2005 at least, now he’s servicing a record to an audience that only knows him as “That Guy who does beats for Em sometimes”

      2. I agree, good point. It’s unfortunate that a lot of the teenager or early 20 somethings who listen to rap/hip hop these days don’t know about some of the greatest who ever did, or they know, but choose to talk shit about the hip hop of the 80’s and 90’s. Some of these rappers out now talk shit about the older rappers, and these gullible kids soak it up, so they become even more ignorant..

    3. Yelawolf – Radioactive
Kno & MarQ Spekt – Machete Vision
Styles P – Master of Ceremonies
      Bet Cyphers
& Florence + the Machine new album
      Good music month for me!!!!!
