In 1995, Raekwon [click here] released one of the most critically acclaimed albums in the Wu-Tang discography Only Built 4 Cuban Linx. Now, the Shaolin spitter is gearing up to release the follow up to what many regard as a classic with Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II. To build anticipation for the album, Rae [click here] has already released “New Wu” [click to watch] with the help of Method Man [click here] and Ghostface [click here] to go along with production from RZA [click here].
Rae is now releasing his second single, “House of Flying Daggers,” [click to listen] a track that comes with verses from Inspectah Deck, GZA, Ghostface and Method Man over a J Dilla instrumental.
Pete Rock, Necro, Dr. Dre, Scram Jones and others help with production. Slick Rick, Styles P and Busta Rhymes are also slated to be guests on the album. In an interview he did with us in 2007, Rae told HipHopDX that he was proud of everybody on the album.
“First and foremost, I got an all-star cast on it. Everybody did they thing. I did my thing,” he noted.
Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II will be released September 8, 2009.
